Evaluation of Theileria equi vertical transmission rate and routes in a cohort of asymptomatic mares and their foals.

Equine piroplasmosis is a tick-borne disease mainly caused by Theileria equi and Babesia caballi. The objectives of this study were to analyse the frequency and routes of vertical transmission of these blood parasites from 179 asymptomatic mares to their foals. Foals were sampled within 72 h post-partum.

Background: In the phase 3 JAVELIN Renal 101 trial (NCT02684006), first-line treatment with avelumab + axitinib resulted in significantly longer progression-free survival (PFS) and a higher objective response rate (ORR) vs sunitinib in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (aRCC). We report the final analysis, including the primary analysis of overall survival (OS).

Patients And Methods: Patients with untreated aRCC (any prognostic risk score) were enrolled.

Objective: Despite significant advances in cancer treatment with targeted therapies and immunotherapies, cytotoxic chemotherapies are still extensively used. Potential cytotoxic contamination in preparing and administrating cytotoxics is still a major source of concern. Besides advanced protections including biological safety cabinets, work surface contamination needs to be continuously controlled to ensure that handling procedures and cleaning were appropriate.

We explored predictors of shift work adaptation and how it relates to disease risk biomarker levels. These analyses included 38 male, rotating shift workers, sampled twice at the end of a 3-week night shift and a 3-week day shift rotation. Participants collected all 24-h urine voids, wore activity sensors, and responded to questionnaires during each shift.

The objective of this study was to understand different perspectives on the challenges associated with the clinical management of neovascular age-related macular degeneration, which could elucidate measures to comprehensively improve clinical care and outcomes.

Methods: A survey was carried out of patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration, their providers, and clinic staff in 77 clinics across 24 countries on six continents, from a diverse range of healthcare systems, settings, and reimbursement models.

In the era of biological treatments and small molecules, this study assessed therapeutic patient education (TPE) in managing adult atopic dermatitis (AD), focusing on disease severity, quality of life, and the use of systemic treatments. This multicentre study included 260 adult AD patients, with 184 undergoing a full TPE programme and 76 control patients. Evaluations included disease severity, quality of life (DLQI), and systemic treatment use.

Methods: Consecutive untreated CHD patients were enrolled in a cross-sectional study in three EU centers. Clinical and virological characteristics were collected.

Objectives: To assess the image quality of ultra-high-resolution (UHR) virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) at 40 keV compared to 70 keV, using spectral photon-counting CT (SPCCT) and dual-layer dual-energy CT (DECT) for coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA).
