Objectives: To generate sagittal T1-weighted fast spin echo (T1w FSE) and short tau inversion recovery (STIR) images from sagittal T2-weighted (T2w) FSE and axial T1w gradient echo Dixon technique (T1w-Dixon) sequences.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study used three existing datasets: "Study of Health in Pomerania" (SHIP, 3142 subjects, 1.5 Tesla), "German National Cohort" (NAKO, 2000 subjects, 3 Tesla), and an internal dataset (157 patients 1.

Introduction: Since 2007, the classification of ethanol under the Biocidal Products Regulation has paradoxically remained unresolved due to conflicting views among experts and authorities. Initially, there was a discussion about classifying ethanol as carcinogenic. The current proposal to extend its harmonized classification includes, among other things, categorizing it as reproductive toxicity category 2 ("suspected to have CMR potential for humans"; carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic).

Objective: To translate the Employment Precariousness Scale (EPRES) from Spanish into German (EPRES-Ge), adapt it to the German context, assess the psychometric properties and show prospective associations with mental health outcomes within the peripartum period.
Design: Analyses encompassed descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to validate the structure of the EPRES, and multivariate regression analyses with mental health outcomes 8 weeks after birth.
Participants: Self-report data from 3,455 pregnant women and their partners within the Dresden Study on Parenting, Work, and Mental Health prospective longitudinal cohort study were used.

Objective And Design: Inflammatory processes are an important part of the etiology of many chronic diseases across various medical domains, including neurodegeneration. Understanding their regulation on the molecular level represents a major challenge. Regulatory microRNAs (miRNAs), have been recognized for their role in post-transcriptionally modulating immune-related pathways serving as biomarkers for numerous diseases.

Background: Medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFL-R) aims to restore proper ligament function with minimal changes in length during range of motion, yet the ideal area for femoral fixation of the graft remains controversial.
Purpose: To determine the region where the isometric circular path of a simulated MPFL graft (best-fit circle) follows the sagittal radius curvature of the trochlea in normal (nontrochlear dysplastic) knees and to evaluate the best-fit circle coverage of different femoral fixation points in knees with severe trochlear dysplasia (TD) and after deepening trochleoplasty.
Study Design: Controlled laboratory study.

From previous studies, it is evident that metal-organic gold(I) complexes have antiproliferative activities. The aim of this study is not only to find new anticancer agents but also to overcome existing cytostatic resistance in cancer cells. The synthesis and medicinal evaluation of two cationic 1,3-disubstituted gold(I) bis-tetrazolylidene complexes and are reported.

Objectives: A recent challenge for clinical laboratories is the lack of clear guidelines for handling significant modifications of CE-marked assays. The modifications may involve, for example, extending measurement intervals, changing dilution procedures or using non-validated sample materials. The challenge arises due to the amended Regulation (EU) 2017/746 on diagnostic medical devices (IVDR), which is now poised for implementation, despite the extended transition periods.

Speech-language therapists/pathologists (SLT/Ps) are key professionals in the management and treatment of primary progressive aphasia (PPA), however, there are gaps in education and training within the discipline, with implications for skills, confidence, and clinical decision-making. This survey aimed to explore the areas of need amongst SLT/Ps working with people living with PPA (PwPPA) internationally to upskill the current and future workforce working with progressive communication disorders. One hundred eighty-six SLT/Ps from 27 countries who work with PwPPA participated in an anonymous online survey about their educational and clinical experiences, clinical decision-making, and self-reported areas of need when working with this population.

Background: The record of the origin and the history of data, known as provenance, holds importance. Provenance information leads to higher interpretability of scientific results and enables reliable collaboration and data sharing. However, the lack of comprehensive evidence on provenance approaches hinders the uptake of good scientific practice in clinical research.

In Germany, the standard format for exchange of clinical care data for research is HL7 FHIR. Graph databases (GDBs), well suited for integrating complex and heterogeneous data from diverse sources, are currently gaining traction in the medical field. They provide a versatile framework for data analysis which is generally challenging for raw FHIR-formatted data.

, involved in carcinogenesis of colon carcinomas, has been described as part of the commensal flora of the female upper reproductive tract. Although its contribution to destructive inflammatory processes is well described, its role as commensal uterine bacteria has not been thoroughly investigated. Since carcinogenesis shares similar mechanisms with early pregnancy development (including proliferation, invasion, blood supply and the induction of tolerance), these mechanisms induced by could play a role in early pregnancy.

Background: Meat consumption could increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. However, evidence is largely based on studies of European and North American populations, with heterogeneous analysis strategies and a greater focus on red meat than on poultry. We aimed to investigate the associations of unprocessed red meat, processed meat, and poultry consumption with type 2 diabetes using data from worldwide cohorts and harmonised analytical approaches.

Introduction: Patients with head and neck cancer (PwHNC) benefit from targeted exercise interventions: symptom relief, compensation for dysfunction, improvement in quality of life (QoL). Data on acceptance physical interventions in PwHNC are rare. The 'OSHO #94' trial investigates the short- and medium-term effects of individualized home exercise in PwHNC on QoL, physical activity and functionality.

This study set out to investigate in a population-based longitudinal cohort, whether chronification of back pain (BP) is related to structural gray matter changes in corticolimbic brain structures. Gray matter volume (GMV) was measured in participants with chronic BP (CBP, n = 168) and controls without chronic pain (n = 323) at 2 time points with an interval of 7 years (baseline t1, follow-up t2). Over this time period, participants with CBP showed an increase of GMV in the left ventral striatum, whereas controls showed a decrease.

Telomere shortening is a prominent hallmark of aging and is emerging as a characteristic feature of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Optimal telomerase activity prevents progressive shortening of telomeres that triggers DNA damage responses. However, the upstream regulation of telomerase holoenzyme components remains poorly defined.

Introduction: Hallux valgus (HV) is the most common forefoot deformity. Surgical correction of HV aims to reduce pain, preserve joints, and re-establish foot function while restoring the hallux valgus angle (HVA) and intermetatarsal angle (IMA). Many surgical procedures have been proposed, including open and minimally invasive (MI) techniques.

Background: A standardised dose-reduction strategy has not been established for the widely used gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel regimen in patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. We aimed to investigate the efficacy and tolerability of alternating treatment cycles of nab-paclitaxel-gemcitabine combination therapy and gemcitabine alone versus continuous treatment with the nab-paclitaxel-gemcitabine combination.

Background: Glenoid version is an important factor in the evaluation of shoulder stability and shoulder pathologies. However, there are neither established reference values nor known factors that influence the glenoid version, even though valid reference values are needed for diagnostic and orthopaedic surgery like corrective osteotomy and total or reverse shoulder arthroplasty (TSA/RSA). The aim of our population-based study was to identify factors influencing the glenoid version and to establish reference values from a large-scale population cohort.
