Background: The early mortality of trauma patients, mainly from hemorrhagic shock, raises interest in detecting the presence of non-exteriorized bleeding. Intra-hospital EFAST (Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) has demonstrated its utility in the assessment and management of severe trauma patients (STP). However, there is a lack of data regarding the diagnostic performance of prehospital EFAST (pEFAST).

Background: Our objective was to characterize the impact of common initial sedation practices on invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) duration and in-hospital outcomes in patients with acute brain injury (ABI) and to elucidate variations in practices between high-income and middle-income countries.
Methods: This was a post hoc analysis of a prospective observational data registry of neurocritically ill patients requiring IMV. The setting included 73 intensive care units (ICUs) in 18 countries, with a total of 1,450 patients with ABI requiring IMV.

Methods: A secondary analysis was performed on a registry of critically ill patients with ABI admitted to 73 intensive care units (ICUs) in 18 countries from 2018 to 2020.

Background/aims: X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP) is considered one of the most severe forms of retinitis pigmentosa (RP), accounting for 5-15% of all RP cases and primarily affecting males. However, the real-world humanistic impacts of this disease on patients are poorly investigated, especially with respect to burdens faced by patients with varying disease severities.
Methods: EXPLORE XLRP-2 was an exploratory, multicentre, non-interventional study.

Background And Aims: Primary lung tumors (PLTs) in children are rare, and surgery remains the key to ensure remission. Here we describe the PLTs clinical characteristics, their management, and the pulmonary outcome following surgery.
Methods: We carried out a French national cohort of pediatric PLTs from 2013 to 2023 from the FRACTURE rare pediatric tumors national database.

This article presents the CONSORT (consolidated standards of reporting trials) extension for cluster randomised crossover trials. A cluster randomised crossover trial involves randomisation of groups of individuals (known as clusters) to different sequences of interventions over time. The design has gained popularity in settings where cluster randomisation is required because it can largely overcome the loss in power due to clustering in parallel cluster trials.

Introduction: Orthognathic surgery is a fundamental component of a maxillofacial surgeon's practice. In France, 510 specialists actively practice oral and maxillofacial surgery. In OMFs, despite the existence of evidence-based recommendation that address diagnosis, treatment planning, and operating methods, each surgeon/institution has developed an individual approach towards clinical management.

Background: Very preterm children are at greater risk of academic difficulties (AD). Some of them start school a year earlier than anticipated during pregnancy due to being born preterm. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between neurodevelopment, school-entry age, and AD at age seven.

We aimed to determine whether RVD assessed by echocardiography in routine clinical practice is independently associated with mortality in patients with DMR.
Methods And Results: We used data from the MIDA-Q (Mitral Regurgitation International DAtabase-Quantitative) registry, which included patients with isolated DMR due to mitral valve prolapse from January 2003 to January 2020 from 5 tertiary centers across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Background: Although hemophilia A mainly affects males, carriers (defined as females with hemophilia A, as well as symptomatic or asymptomatic hemophilia A carriers) are at risk of excessive bleeding, particularly during trauma or during surgical procedures. Clinical trials have focused on male patients with severe disease, and data for females are limited. Improved, evidence-based treatment guidelines for management of hemophilia A carriers are required.

Background & Aims: ERBB2 pathway activation, through amplification or activating mutations, represents a new target for colon cancer (CC) treatment. Molecular methods were compared with the gold standard for assessing ERBB2 status, and the prognostic value of ERBB2 amplification, mutations, and expression was determined using data from 2 phase 3 trials involving nearly 3000 patients with stage III CC.
Methods: In the PETACC8 trial, immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization, DNA, and RNA analysis were performed on 1813, 1719, and 1733 samples, respectively.

Methods: All antimicrobial susceptibility test (AST) results of E. coli culture-positive urine samples from females living in the community or in NHs, collected through a large network of clinical laboratories in 2020 in France, were included.

Background: To examine the psychometrics properties of the French version of two scales measuring general (HLS-Q12) and navigational (HLS-NAV) health literacy (HL) using validation methods based on modern psychometric test theories: a Rasch model analysis.
Methods: The data on representative samples of the French adult population came from the Health Literacy Survey (N = 2 003), conducted in France in two waves (2020 and 2021), and from the third wave of SLAVACO study (N = 2 022), conducted in December 2021. A Rasch analysis was performed using a partial credit model with marginal maximum likelihood estimation adapted to polytomous data.

Tricuspid regurgitation (TR), an underrecognized disease, overlooked by clinicians for many years due to its assumed benign nature. Recent epidemiological studies suggest significant TR may be seen in up to 6% of elderly patients. An increase in prevalence is expected due to the higher incidence of various clinical predictors of TR progression.
