In the National database (NDB) of the German regional collaborative arthritis centres, annual data on the rheumatological care of patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases have been collected since 1993. This first annual report presents current cross-sectional data on medication and patient-reported outcomes gathered in 2022.

Following international developments, the domain "sexuality" of the EPIC-26 (Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite 26) is increasingly used in Germany.

Objective: The aim of this work is to create a practicable comparison of the domain "sexuality" of the EPIC-26 with the IIEF‑5 for treatment in Germany.

DMEK outcome after one year - Results from a large multicenter study in Germany.

Purpose: Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) accounts for >50% of all corneal transplants in Germany. So far, no data from such a large multicenter study have been published.

Methods: This retrospective study included 3200 DMEKs at seven departments performed for Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) or bullous keratopathy (BK).

Background: There are little scientific data on fully automated Peer Assessment Rating (PAR); this study compares a number of PAR scoring methods to assess their reliability.

Objectives: This investigation evaluated PAR scores of plaster, 3D printed, and virtual digital models scored by specialist orthodontists, dental auxiliaries, undergraduate dental students,and using a fully automated method.

Materials And Methods: Twelve calibrated assessors determined the PAR score of a typodont and this score was used as the gold standard.

Myelopathy, often used as a synonym and presenting with similar symptoms in clinical practice, can be caused by numerous, not primarily inflammatory etiologies and might also show a progressive disease course. Within the last decade the spectrum of autoimmune myelitis was significantly broadened as was the spectrum of diagnostic methods.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are rare severe and often life-threatening reactions of the skin and mucous membranes. They are considered as a single disease entity with different expressions of severity and are summarized under the term epidermal necrolysis (EN). There is a high risk of ocular involvement, which can lead to long-lasting eye problems and even blindness without immediate ophthalmological treatment.

Background: Liver metastases represent the most common secondary malignant liver disease. Data regarding the incidence of colorectal and non-colorectal liver metastases are rare due to insufficient documentation in a register. Background: Infectious diseases continue to play an important role for disease perception, health-economic considerations and public health in Germany. In recent years, infectious diseases have been linked to the development of non-communicable diseases. Analyses of the German National Cohort (GNC) may provide deeper insights into this issue and pave the way for new targeted approaches in disease prevention.

Objectives: To describe assessment methods and the frequency of self-reported cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in the German National Cohort.

Materials And Methods: Using a computer-based, standardized personal interview, 101,806 participants (20-75 years, 46% men) from 18 nationwide study centres were asked to use a predefined list to report medical conditions ever diagnosed by a physician, including cardiovascular or metabolic diseases.

[Occurrence of bronchial asthma and age at initial asthma diagnosis-first results of the German National Cohort].

Background: Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in both children and adults. Asthma first occurring in adulthood (adult-onset asthma, AOA) is associated with poorer prognosis compared to childhood-onset asthma (COA), which urgently calls for more research in this area. The aim of this work was to analyze the data on asthma collected in the German National Cohort and compare it with the German Health Interview and Examination Survey for Adults (DEGS), in particular regarding AOA.

Background: A nationwide assessment of the respiratory status on the basis of standardized lung function measurements has so far not been available in Germany. The present work describes the lung function tests in the German National Cohort (GNC) and presents initial results based on the GNC Midterm Baseline Dataset.

Material And Methods: The assessment of lung function in the GNC comprised spirometry (level 1) and the determination of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO, level 2).

Background: Physical activity is a complex behavior that is difficult to measure validly and reliably in large, population-based studies. Data on physical activity are available for the initial 100,000 participants of the German National Cohort.

Objectives: To describe the baseline physical activity assessment in the cohort and to present initial descriptive results.
