Background: This study investigated the effect of various offloading devices commonly used for the management of diabetic foot ulcerations on peak plantar pressure and pressure-time integral of the contralateral limb.

Methods: A quantitative, randomised and within-subject repeated measures study was conducted in an outpatient gait laboratory. Outpatients with unilateral diabetic foot ulcers and adequate perfusion to the lower limb without an intrinsic limb-length discrepancy who were able to walk were recruited for the study.

An off-lattice discrete model to characterise filamentous yeast colony morphology.

We combine an off-lattice agent-based mathematical model and experimentation to explore filamentous growth of a yeast colony. Under environmental stress, Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells can transition from a bipolar (sated) to unipolar (pseudohyphal) budding mechanism, where cells elongate and bud end-to-end. This budding asymmetry yields spatially non-uniform growth, where filaments extend away from the colony centre, foraging for food.

This article aims to provide a brief introduction of how to conduct and report scoping reviews.

Background: In Australia, lived experience peer support workforces are expanding making it one of the fastest growing emerging disciplines in transdisciplinary mental health settings. This article provides insight for organisations on the contextual realities peer workers face, increases understanding of peer support services to improve service delivery environments and contributes to mental health systems reform. This study aimed to qualitatively explore peer support workers experience integrating into and working within transdisciplinary mental health service teams.

Critically unwell infants and children with mitochondrial disorders diagnosed by ultrarapid genomic sequencing.

Purpose: To characterize the diagnostic and clinical outcomes of a cohort of critically ill infants and children with suspected mitochondrial disorders (MD) undergoing ultrarapid genomic testing as part of a national program.

Methods: Ultrarapid genomic sequencing was performed in 454 families (genome sequencing: n = 290, exome sequencing +/- mitochondrial DNA sequencing: n = 164). In 91 individuals, MD was considered, prompting analysis using an MD virtual gene panel.

Objective: The aim of this research was to explore the perspective, language, description, and practices of practitioners who identify as using mindfulness techniques for a range of health and clinical conditions.

Methods: This study was guided by a qualitative descriptive methodology. Mindfulness practitioners from a variety of backgrounds that included medical, allied health, complementary and alternative medicine, and traditional Buddhism from across Australia were invited to share their perspectives.
