The level of serum bilirubin is associated with the incidence of lung cancer in both smokers and non-smokers, but the specific mechanism is unknown. Bilirubin nanoparticles (BRNPs) were synthesized to explore the effects on Treg/Th17 immunity and gut microbiota in Lewis Lung Carcinoma (LLC) mice, to provide insights for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. 10 μg/mL BRNPs promoted apoptosis of A549, NCI-H1299 and LLC cells.

Background: Liver injury from drug-drug interactions (DDIs), notably with anti-tuberculosis drugs such as isoniazid, poses a significant safety concern. Electronic medical records contain comprehensive clinical information and have gained increasing attention as a potential resource for DDI detection. However, a substantial portion of adverse drug reaction (ADR) information is hidden in unstructured narrative text, which has yet to be efficiently harnessed, thereby introducing bias into the research.

Background: Multiple myeloma (MM) remains a therapeutically challenging hematologic malignancy characterized by frequent relapse and disease progression. Angiogenesis regulated by non-coding RNAs plays a vital role in MM pathogenesis. Despite the potential clinical applications of tsRNAs, the specific mechanisms by which they contribute to MM progression, particularly through angiogenesis within the bone marrow microenvironment, remain elusive.

EFNA4, a member of the Ephrin-A ligand family, may influence hepatocellular carcinoma cells through two distinct mechanisms: one reliant on specific Eph receptor binding and the other independent of receptor involvement. However, EFNA4's influence on HCC via non-Eph receptor pathways remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of EFNA4 in a receptor-independent environment.

Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) is the second most common cause of secondary infertility in women and can also lead to menstrual abnormalities and multiple adverse pregnancy outcomes. Therefore, elucidating the mechanism of its development is crucial for the prevention and treatment of IUA. This study will investigate the function and mechanism of forkhead box P1 (FOXP1)/DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1)/unc-51-like autophagy activating kinase 1 (ULK1) in IUA.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the common malignant tumors, and most patients with advanced GC often develop chemotherapy resistance, resulting in poor chemotherapy efficacy. Therefore, it is crucial to clarify the specific mechanisms of their chemotherapy resistance. In this study, we analyzed the correlation between fos-related antigen-1 (Fra-1) and chemotherapy resistance in GC using bioinformatics, cell counting kit-8 (CCK8), and 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EDU) combined with flow cytometry; furthermore, we used energy metabolomics sequencing, combined with ChIP-qPCR technology, to elucidate the specific role of Fra-1 in chemotherapy resistance of GC cells and its related mechanisms.

The use of fatty livers in liver transplantation has emerged as a crucial strategy to expand the pool of donor livers; however, fatty livers are more sensitive to ischemia‒reperfusion injury (IRI). Excessive congenital inflammatory responses are crucial in IRI. Hypothermic oxygenated perfusion (HOPE) is a novel organ preservation technique that may improve marginal donor liver quality by reducing the inflammatory response.

Iron overload-dependent ferroptosis is believed to contribute to the brain injury of ischemia/reperfusion (I/R), whereas toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) can exert pro-ferroptosis effect via inhibiting the glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) level, but the mechanisms behind these phenomenon are not fully elucidated. Tumor necrosis factor receptor correlated factor 3-interaction Jun amino-terminal kinase [JNK]-activating modulator (T3JAM) can activate specific molecule and its downstream signaling pathways, including TLR4. This study aims to explore whether targeting T3JAM can reduce I/R-induced ferroptosis in brain via downregulating TLR4.
