Background: This study aims to evaluate the association between serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP), calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P), C-reactive protein (CRP) and D-dimer (D-D), and hemoglobin (Hb) in postoperative and preoperative osteoporotic hip fracture elderly patients.

Methods: A total of 32 operation patients with osteoporotic hip fracture over the age of 65 years old were admitted to the orthopedic unit and prospectively evaluated. All patients were treated according to specific protocols, according to the type of fracture.

Comparative Effectiveness of Different Combinations of Treatment Interventions in Patients with Stroke at the Convalescence Stage Based on the Markov Decision Process.

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of different combinations of interventions in patients with stroke at the convalescence stage based on the electronic health records (EHRs) by using the Markov decision process (MDP) theory and explore the feasibility of the Markov model in the real-world study (RWS).

Methods: Screening was conducted for patients with stroke at the convalescence stage who were admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from January 2012 to January 2017 based on the EHRs. Background: Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS), which is also known as acupuncture-like transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), has been widely used in acute or chronic pain. Morphology of the lumbar multifidus muscle in lumbar disc herniation at different durations and at different ages.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the relative functional volume of bilateral lumbar multifidus (LM) muscles across different stages and ages of patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). The relative functional volumes of LM muscles in both non-affected and affected sides in the L4-L5 and L5-S1 segmental level were measured in a resting prone position, and visual analogue score (VAS) for pain and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores were recorded. The correlation between changes in the relative net volume of LM muscles and times of onset, ages, VAS and JOA scores were analyzed.

Arginine Vasopressin-Aquaporin-2 Pathway-Mediated Dehydration Effects of Electroacupuncture in Guinea Pig Model of AVP-Induced Eendolymphatic Hydrops.

Objective: To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on endolymphatic hydrops (EH) and the regulation of arginine vasopressin (AVP)-aquaporin-2 (AQP2) pathway in guinea pigs.

Methods: EH was induced in male guinea pigs by an intraperitoneal injection of AVP. For the treatment, EA was delivered to Baihui (GV 20) and Tinggong (SI 19) acupoints, once per day for 10 consecutive days.

Objective: To explore the potential mechanism of acupuncture stimulation of "Taichong" (LR 3) and "Neiguan" (PC 6) in spontaneous hypertension rats (SHR) by investigating its effects on blood pressure and contents of aspartic acid(Asp) and glutamic acid (Glu) in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) region.

Methods: A total of 75 SHR were randomized into model group, Taichong (LR 3) group, Neiguan (PC 6) group, LR 3+non-acupoint group and LR 3 + PC 6 group (=15 rats in each group), and 15 Wistar rats of the same age were used as the normal control group. The filiform needles were inserted into the abovementioned acupoints and non-acupoint, twirled for a while and then retained for 30 min.

Integrative medicine for subacute stroke rehabilitation: a study protocol for a multicentre, randomised, controlled trial.

Introduction: Many patients with stroke receive integrative medicine in China, which includes the basic treatment of Western medicine and routine rehabilitation, in conjunction with acupuncture and Chinese medicine. The question of whether integrative medicine is efficacious for stroke rehabilitation is still controversial and very little research currently exists on the integrated approach for this condition. Consequently, we will conduct a multicentre, randomised, controlled, assessor-blinded clinical trial to assess the effectiveness of integrative medicine on stroke rehabilitation.
