Non-cirrhotic portal hypertension secondary to cholangiointestinal anastomotic stricture after choledochal cyst excision: a case report.

Background: Cystectomy accompanied by biliary system reconstruction is an important treatment option for choledochal cysts, but the risk of post-operative complications is high. The most famous long-term complication is anastomotic stricture, whereas non-cirrhotic portal hypertension secondary to cholangiointestinal anastomotic stricture is rare.

Case Summary: Here we report the case of a 33-year-old female patient with a type I choledochal cyst who underwent choledochal cyst excision with Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy.

Methods: This retrospective and observational study analyzed data from 4324 critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, obtained from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV (MIMIC-IV) database.

Analysis of Sonazoid contrast-enhanced ultrasound for predicting the risk of microvascular invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma: a prospective multicenter study.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of Sonazoid contrast-enhanced ultrasound (SNZ-CEUS) as an imaging biomarker for preoperative prediction of microvascular invasion (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Methods: From August 2020 to March 2021, we conducted a prospective multicenter study on the clinical application of Sonazoid in liver tumor; a MVI prediction model was developed and validated by integrating clinical and imaging variables. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to establish the MVI prediction model; three models were developed: a clinical model, a SNZ-CEUS model, and a combined model and conduct external validation.

Relationship between stress hyperglycemia ratio and allcause mortality in critically ill patients: Results from the MIMIC-IV database.

Background: Stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) was developed to reduce the impact of long-term chronic glycemic factors on stress hyperglycemia levels, which have been linked to clinical adverse events. However, the relationship between SHR and the short- and long-term prognoses of intensive care unit (ICU) patients remains unclear.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 3,887 ICU patients (cohort 1) whose initial fasting blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c data within 24 hours of admission were available and 3,636 ICU patients (cohort 2) who were followed-up for 1-year using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV v2.

Case report: Anti-CNTN1 antibody-associated nodopathies disease with asymmetric onset.

Anti-contactin-1 (CNTN1) IgG4 antibody-associated nodopathies is an autoimmune antibody-mediated peripheral neuropathy with a unique clinical presentation, pathophysiology, electrophysiology, and therapeutic response. The critical histopathological features are a dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate, a storiform pattern of fibrosis, and obliterative phlebitis. Here, a 62-year-old male patient presented with subacute unilateral limb onset, progressive exacerbation, marked weakness of the extremities, cranial, and autonomic nerve involvement.

[Volume management of intermittent hemofiltration guided by critical care ultrasound in the treatment of acute kidney injury].

Objective: To investigate the volume management of intermittent veno-venous hemofiltration (IVVH) guided by critical care ultrasound in the treatment of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with heart failure (HF).

Methods: A total of 216 patients with HF and AKI treated with IVVH in the coronary care unit (CCU) of the Third Central Hospital of Tianjin from April 2019 to June 2022 were selected as the study subjects, the patients were randomly divided into conventional guidance group (107 cases) and ultrasound guidance group (109 cases). According to the recovery of renal function, IVVH was performed 12 hours every day or 12 hours every other day.

Background: Hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) is the criterion for assessing sinusoidal portal hypertension. Using HVPG to assess the degree of liver fibrosis by transjugular liver biopsy (TJLB) is still being explored, as no data has been shown that portal hypertension may already be present in patients with advanced hepatic fibrosis (Scheuer stage ≥ S3). The objective of this study was to observe whether portal hypertension exists before progressing to cirrhosis (Scheuer stage = S4).

Aim: To explore the relationship between poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) and the occurrence, development, and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma (EC), and investigate whether the PARG inhibitor PDD0017273 could increase the sensitivity of EC cells to cisplatin.

Methods: The expression of PARG, phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), and p53 in normal endometrial tissues (NE), endometrial hyperplasia without atypia (EH), atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AH), and EC was detected by immunohistochemistry. AN3CA EC cells with PTEN deficiency were treated with different cisplatin and PDD0017273, alone or in combination.

Characteristics of multicystic biliary hamartoma: A case report.

Introduction: Multicystic biliary hamartoma (MCBH) is a very rare hepatic benign neoplasm that manifests as a localized cystic-solid mass. Only 17 cases have been described in the literature to date. MCBH diagnosis is currently dependent on imaging and pathology following surgical resection and no precise standards are in place.

HAIC versus TACE for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) and Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) both showed good local efficacy in advanced or unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the effect of HAIC with TACE in patients with unresectable HCC.

Methods: Clinical trials, which were about HAIC or TACE in Patients with unresectable HCC, were identified by searching PubMed, Medline, and EMBASE from January 2010 to March 2022.
