Rationale: The occurrence of primary cutaneous diffuse large B cell lymphoma-other (PCDLBCL-O) has been rarely reported in the literature. Its diagnosis is based on histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations. To improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment for PCDLBCL-O, we report a case of PCDLBCL-O successfully treated by the combination of R-CHOP (A chemotherapy protocol consists of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone plus Rituximab) chemotherapy and surgery.

Metastasis is one of the most decisive factors influencing CRC patient prognosis and current studies suggest that a molecular mechanism known as EMT broadly regulates cancer metastasis. NR2F2 is a key molecule in the development of CRC, but the roles and underlying mechanisms of NR2F2 in TGF-β induced EMT in CRC remain largely unknown. Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) has been recognized as a central mediator and promising therapeutic target in hepatic fibrosis. In this study, we generated a novel virus-like particle (VLP) CTGF vaccine by inserting the 138-159 amino acid (aa) fragment of CTGF into the central c/e1 epitope of C-terminus truncated hepatitis B virus core antigen (HBc, aa 1-149) using a prokaryotic expression system. Immunization of BALB/c mice with the VLP vaccine efficiently elicited the production of anti-CTGF neutralizing antibodies.

The current study presents a case of cluster of differentiation (CD)56 myeloid sarcoma in a patient that initially presented with skin lesions, and provides evidence for the clinical and differential diagnosis of myeloid sarcoma. The patient of the present case report was a 65-year-old man who was admitted to hospital with a six-month history of bilateral purple-red papules and nodules, which were present on the upper limbs of the patient and had spread over his whole body one month prior to admission to the hospital. Pathological examination demonstrated a diffuse infusion of primitive round cells at the papillary dermis and subcutaneous tissues.

In this study, we successfully constructed a composite of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and a chitosan-collagen scaffold in vitro, transplanted either the composite or bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells alone into the ischemic area in animal models, and compared their effects. At 14 days after co-transplantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and the hitosan-collagen scaffold, neurological function recovered noticeably. Vascular endothelial growth factor expression and nestin-labeled neural precursor cells were detected in the ischemic area, surrounding tissue, hippocampal dentate gyrus and subventricular zone.

Accumulating evidence indicates that dysregulation of miRNAs could contribute to tumor growth and metastasis of chondrosarcoma by infuencing cell proliferation and invasion. In the current study, we are interested to examine the role of miRNAs in the carcinogenesis and progression of chondrosarcoma. Here, using comparative miRNA profiling of tissues and cells of chondrosarcoma and cartilage, we identified miR-494 as a commonly downregulated miRNA in the tissues of patients with chondrosarcoma and chondrosarcoma cancer cell line, and upregulation of miR-494 could inhibit proliferation and invasion of chondrosarcoma cancer cells in vivo and in vitro.

This study investigated the potential application of a zirconium oxide (ZrO2) ceramic foam culturing system to the production of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). Two cases of type B LyP were identified and the literature was reviewed to summarize the clinical outcomes and pathology of LyP and its treatment. Mutations of the SCN5A gene are associated with several arrhythmic syndromes including the Brugada syndrome, conduction disease, long QT syndrome type 3 (LQT3), atrial fibrillation, and dilated cardiomyopathy. We report LQT3 associated with an A1180V cardiac sodium channel mutation, previously associated with cardiac conduction block, and dilated cardiomyopathy in three generations of a Chinese family. Clinical, electrocardiographic (ECG), and echocardiographic examination was followed by direct sequencing of SCN5A and HERG to screen genomic DNA from blood samples.
