Background: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a leading cause of severe illness in infants, with no effective treatment. Results of a phase 2 trial suggested that ziresovir may have efficacy in the treatment of infants hospitalized with RSV infection.
Methods: In a phase 3, multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial conducted in China, we enrolled participants 1 to 24 months of age who were hospitalized with RSV infection.

Background: Vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) are prevalent in patients with osteoporosis and pose significant health risks. Although chronic low-grade inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis, the relationship between various inflammatory indices and the occurrence of fractures remains unclear.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the correlation between multiple inflammatory indices, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII), and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), and VCFs, to explore the significance of these indices in clinical application.

Background: The malignancy of melanoma is attributed to its pronounced invasiveness, extensive vascularization, and rapid tumor cell growth and metastasis. LncRNA SLNCR1 is closely associated with a variety of aggressive tumors. However, our understanding of SLNCR1 influences on malignant melanoma growth metastasis mechanism especially proangiogenic mechanism remains unclear.

Background: The utilization of ultrapure dialysate has been shown to decrease dialysate contamination and mitigate inflammatory responses. The central dialysate delivery system (CDDS) has the potential to attain a level of purity similar to ultrapure dialysate. Nevertheless, there is limited research examining the impact of CDDS on inflammation in comparison to single-patient dialysis fluid delivery system(SPDDS).

Objective: Multiple myeloma (MM) and Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are distinct hematologic malignancies originating from different cell lineages. Their coexistence is extremely rare, and current treatment approaches are even more so. Therefore, exploring the clinical features of their coexistence and the promising treatment strategy is worthwhile.

Regulatory T cells (Tregs), a subset of CD4T cells marked by the expression of the transcription factor forkhead box protein 3 (Foxp3), are pivotal in maintaining immune equilibrium and preventing autoimmunity. In our review, we addressed the functional distinctions between Foxp3Tregs and other T cells, highlighting their roles in autoimmune diseases and cancer. We uncovered the dual nature of Tregs: they prevented autoimmune diseases by maintaining self-tolerance while contributing to tumor evasion by suppressing anti-tumor immunity.

Background: Bladder cancer carries a large societal burden, with over 570,000 newly diagnosed cases and 210,000 deaths globally each year. Platelets play vital functions in tumor progression and therapy benefits. We aimed to construct a platelet-related signature (PRS) for the clinical outcome of bladder cancer cases.

Background: Although the patient survival rate for many malignancies has been improved with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), some patients experience various immune-related adverse events (irAEs). IrAEs impact several organ systems, including the kidney. With anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) therapy (pembrolizumab), kidney-related adverse events occur relatively rarely compared with other irAEs.

RNF26 is an important E3 ubiquitin ligase that has been associated with poor prognosis in bladder cancer. However, the underlying mechanisms of RNF26 in bladder cancer tumorigenesis are not fully understood. In the present study, we found that RNF26 expression level was significantly upregulated in the bladder cancer tissues, and higher RNF26 expression is closely associated with poorer prognosis, lower immune cell infiltration, and more sensitive to immune checkpoint blockade drugs and chemotherapy drugs, including cisplatin, VEGFR-targeting drugs and MET-targeting drugs.

Objective: The study aimed to explore the correlation between retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT) with blood biochemical indicators and cognitive dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and the possible mechanism, thereby providing more theoretical basis for the occurrence and prevention of diabetes related complications.
Methods: Eighty T2DM patients treated in our hospital from March 2022 to September 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and the clinical data of the patients were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) to analyze the changes in retinal blood vessels.

Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are crucial for embryonic and postnatal growth and development, influencing cell survival, metabolism, myogenesis, and cancer progression. Many studies have demonstrated that IGFs also play prominent roles in the modulation of both innate and adaptive immune systems during inflammation. Strikingly, IGFs dictate the phenotype and functional properties of macrophages and T cells.

Late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD) is caused by a genetic deficiency of the lysosomal enzyme acid alpha-glucosidase (GAA), leading to progressive limb-girdle weakness and respiratory impairment. The insidious onset of non-specific early symptoms often prohibits timely diagnosis. This study aimed to validate the high-risk screening criteria for LOPD in the Chinese population.

Osteoporosis, a prevalent skeletal disorder characterized by diminished bone density, compromised microstructure, and heightened fracture susceptibility, poses a growing public health concern exacerbated by aging demographics. Polysaccharides-based materials, derived from a diverse range of sources, exhibit exceptional biocompatibility. They possess a structure similar to the extracellular matrix, which can enhance cell adhesion in vivo, and demonstrate superior biological activity compared to artificial materials.
