This study aims to discuss the effect and underlying mechanism of RFX7 on the regulation of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) -induced proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs).Ox-LDL was used to construct atherosclerosis in vitro model.

Analysing predictors of surgical site infections in patients undergoing emergency surgery for traumatic pulmonary haemorrhage.

Identifying predictors for surgical site infections (SSIs) after emergency surgical treatment for traumatic pulmonary haemorrhage (TPH) is crucial for improving patient outcomes. This study aims to ascertain these predictors. In this comprehensive retrospective study, conducted from January 2020 to December 2023 at our institution, 75 patients were analysed, including a case group of 25 patients with SSIs and a control group of 50 without SSIs post-TPH surgery.

Impact of exercise interventions on quality of life and depression in lung cancer patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Depression is also a common concern for lung cancer patients and is of concern because it negatively impacts overall well-being. This study summarizes the existing literature on the impact of exercise interventions on quality of life and depression in patients diagnosed with lung cancer.

Magnetic attachment improves the chewing ability of patients with dental defects after oral restoration.

Objective: To investigate the effect and clinical value of magnetic attachments in oral restoration.

Methods: Seventy-two cases of dental defects treated in Haishu District Stomatological Hospital from April 2018 to October 2019 were selected for retrospective analysis, of which 36 cases were treated with routine oral restoration (control group) and 34 cases with magnetic attachments (research group). The clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, masticatory efficiency and fixation force were compared between the two groups, and the treatment satisfaction was investigated at discharge.

Comparison of therapeutic effect of catheter direct thrombolysis and peripheral venous thrombolysis on acute pulmonary embolism.

We compared the therapeutic effect of catheter direct thrombolysis (CDT) and peripheral venous thrombolysis (PVT) for patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE). Totally, 74 patients with APE were enrolled, including 37 in the CDT group and 37 in the PVT group. The changes in clinical indicators pre and posttreatment were observed.

According to the relevant guidelines, they were divided into high-risk and medium-risk groups, including PMT groups (35 cases) and CDT groups (49 cases).

To explore the effect of seamless nursing combined with Roy adaptive psychological nursing on self-efficacy and bad mood of patients after acute abdomen surgery. According to the digital table method, 120 patients with acute abdomen who were treated and nursed in our hospital from June 2019 to June 2021 were selected as prospective research objects, and they were divided into a control group and an observation group with 60 cases each. Among them, the control group carried out seamless nursing, and the observation group carried out Roy adaptive psychological nursing on this basis, and compared the effects of self-efficacy, nursing ability and bad mood of the 2 groups of patients after surgery.

Platelet-to-white blood cell ratio: A novel and promising prognostic marker for HBV-associated decompensated cirrhosis.

Aim: The present study aimed to investigate associations of the platelet-to-white blood cell ratio (PWR)-a novel hematological indicator of inflammatory responses-with 30-day outcomes in patients with HBV-associated decompensated cirrhosis (HBV-DeCi).

Methods: We recruited 131 patients with HBV-DeCi for this retrospective study and extracted baseline clinical data and laboratory characteristics from medical records. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to determine major factors influencing 30-day mortality.

To analyze the association between a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of the phosphatase and tensin homolog ( gene, that is within a microRNA (miRNA) binding site, and the risk of Chinese Han cervical cancer. A case-control study was carried out to analyze the genotype of the rs34140758 locus in 210 surgically treated, Han Chinese, cervical cancer patients and 210 healthy controls. The levels of the miRNAs hsa-miR-586 and hsa-miR-622 and the mRNA were analyzed by real-time reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction in the cancerous and adjacent normal tissues from all cases.

Independent association of vitamin D and insulin resistance in obstructive sleep apnea.

Background: Vitamin D insufficiency and/or high levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH) seem to be associated with abnormal glucose metabolism, which is frequent in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The purpose of this study was to investigate vitamin D and PTH concentrations in OSA, and to explore potential links between vitamin D, PTH and insulin resistance (IR).

Methods: A total of 112 subjects with suspected OSA were recruited consecutively, and evaluated by polysomnography (PSG) to determine the number of apnea and hypopnea episodes per hour of sleep (apnea/hypopnea index: AHI).

The present study reports that periostin (POSTN), a secretory protein that can alter the remodeling of the extracellular matrix, is highly expressed in gastric tumors.

High Mean Platelet Volume Is Associated with Worse Outcomes in Patients with HBV-Related Decompensated Cirrhosis.

Background: Mean platelet volume (MPV) is an inexpensive, routinely measured clinical parameter, and its elevation shows an increase in the size and activity of platelets. It has been shown that MPV can be used as a prognostic biomarker in certain chronic diseases. In the present study, MPV in patients with hepatitis B virus-related decompensated cirrhosis (HBV-DeCi) was investigated to evaluate whether MPV may have utility as a new predictive marker for mortality in HBV-DeCi patients.
