Positive psychological factors play a pivotal role in improving cardiovascular outcomes. Gratitude interventions are among the most effective positive psychological interventions, with potential clinical applications in cardiology practice. To better understand the potential clinical effects of gratitude interventions in cardiovascular disease, four databases (Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, and PsycArticles) were searched from 2005 to 2023 for relevant studies.

Mechanosensing of cells to extracellular matrix (ECM) is highly active and plays a crucial role in various physiological processes. Growing numbers of studies provide evidence that cell sensitivity to ECM stiffness is a complex stress-strain feedback process. However, the mechanisms that rule this process are still not fully known.

Aim: To present the multi-omics landscape of cutaneous melanoma (CM) and uveal melanoma (UM) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
Methods: The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between CM and UM were found and integrated into a gene ontology enrichment analysis. Besides, the differentially expressed miRNAs were also identified.

Atherosclerosis is a common cause of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), including microRNAs (miRNAs), long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs) have attracted substantial attention for their roles in various physiological and pathological processes. In recent years, research on the roles of circRNAs in atherosclerosis has progressed rapidly, and they have been implicated in the pathophysiological processes underlying the development of atherosclerosis, including changes in the functions of endothelial cells (ECs), vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), and macrophages.

Increases in age are accompanied by vascular aging, which can lead to a variety of chronic diseases, including atherosclerosis and hypertension. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) have become a research hotspot in different fields of life sciences in recent years. For example, these molecules have been found to have regulatory roles in many physiological and pathological processes.

Objective: To evaluate the surgical technique and clinical effect of arthroscopic pullout suture repair of posterior root tear of the medial meniscus via the double tibial tunnels.
Methods: From May 2014 to May 2017, 22 patients with posterior root tear of medial meniscus were treated by pullout suture repair via the double tibial tunnels, including 8 males and 14 females, aged 34 to 53 years old, with a mean of averaged(45.7±4.

Molecules secreted by cells into the internal environment during aging, including those secreted in exosomes, have long been a matter of concern. Those cells that absorb exosomes, also known as recipient cells, exhibit certain phenotypic changes because of the regulatory role of functional molecules (including proteins and nucleic acids) released in exosomes. Involvement of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) in the regulation of aging has received increasing attention, and long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) have become one of the research hotspots in recent years.

Fibulin-4, an extracellular glycoprotein, which plays significant roles in elastic fiber assembly, is correlated to the progression of some cancers. However, the role of fibulin-4 in endometrial cancer cell invasion and metastasis remains unexplored. In our study, fibulin-4 expression was assessed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) in normal endometrial tissues and endometrial carcinoma tissues.

EFEMP1, a kind of extracellular matrix (ECM) protein, has been suggested to correlate with the development of different types of carcinoma. However, its functions in ovarian cancer remain unclear. In our study, we performed cDNA microarray analysis and identified EFEMP1 dramatically elevated in the highly invasive subclone, compared with the low invasive subclone.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Gastric bypass surgery on the apoptosis of islet β-cells in type 2 nonobese diabetic (NOD) rats and its mechanisms.
Methods: Seventy-two 8-week-old GK rats were randomly divided into four groups:operation group (group O, n = 18), sham operation group (group S, n = 18), diet control group (group F, n = 18) and control group (group C, n = 18). The levels of fasting, postprandial blood glucose, insulin and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) were measured and compared among the 4 groups before the operation and at 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks following the operation.
