Tumor heterogeneity and its drivers impair tumor progression and cancer therapy. Single-cell RNA sequencing is used to investigate the heterogeneity of tumor ecosystems. However, most methods of scRNA-seq amplify the termini of polyadenylated transcripts, making it challenging to perform total RNA analysis and somatic mutation analysis.

Background: Mucinous gastric carcinoma (MGC) is a distinct histologic subtype of gastric cancer (GC) that is often diagnosed at an advanced stage. The clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of MGC, when compared to adenocarcinoma and signet-ring cell carcinoma (SRCC), are currently subjects of debate and require further investigation.
Methods: In this study, we conducted an investigation on 4,417 patients who were hospitalized with GC at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital between April 2008 and December 2019.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the value of a model combining conventional ultrasonography and clinicopathologic features for predicting axillary status after neoadjuvant therapy in breast cancer.
Methods: This retrospective study included 329 patients with lymph node-positive who underwent neoadjuvant systemic treatment (NST) from June 2019 to March 2022. Ultrasound and clinicopathological characteristics of breast lesions and axillary lymph nodes were analyzed before and after NST.

Purpose: Only recently has the percentage of signet-ring cells (SRCs) been shown to affect the prognosis following gastric cancer surgery. It is uncertain whether the SRC percentage has a role in tumour biology or prognosis of gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma (GSRCC). For this research, we assessed the effect of the SRC percentage on the clinicopathological and prognostic characteristics of gastric cancer (GC) tumours and created and verified a prognostic nomogram to assess the overall survival (OS) of GSRCC patients.

Background: Lung large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (L-LCNEC) is a rare and highly aggressive neuroendocrine tumor. There is currently no standard therapeutic regimen, and systemic chemotherapy results in poor prognosis. Due to the rarity of L-LCNEC, the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) remain unclear.

The aim of this paper was to reveal the correlation between the expression of ELOVL fatty acid elongase 6 (ELOVL6) gene in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and its clinical significance, immune cell infiltration level and prognosis. Expression profile data of ELOVL6 mRNA were collected from the cancer genome atlas database to analyze the differences in ELOVL6 mRNA expression in LUAD tissues and normal lung tissues, and to analyze the correlation between ELOVL6 and information on clinicopathological features. Based on TIMER database, TISDIB database and GEPIA2 database, the correlation between ELOVL6 expression and tumor immune cell infiltration in LUAD was analyzed.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the clinical efficacy of patients with cervical disc herniation (CDH) treated by low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation (LTP-RFA) as day surgery with traditional inpatients.
Methods: According to the selection criteria, single-segment mild to moderate CDH patients who received LTP-RFA from January 2020 to December 2021 were divided into day surgery procedure (DSP) group and a traditional inpatient procedure (TIP) group. The visual analogue score (VAS) and modified Japanese Orthopedic Association score (mJOA) of neurological function of patients in the two groups were recorded at the time of preoperative, and one day, three months, six months after surgery and the last follow-up respectively.

Large bone defects (LBD) caused by trauma, infection, and tumor resection remain a significant clinical challenge. Although therapeutic agents such as bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2), have shown substantial potency in various clinical scenarios, their uncontrollable release kinetics has raised considerable concern from the clinical viewpoint. Mineral-coated microparticle (MCM) has shown its excellent biologics loading and delivery potential due to its superior protein-binding capacity and controllable degradation behaviors; thus, it is conceivable that MCM can be combined with hydrogel systems to enable optimized BMP-2 delivery for LBD healing.

Polygonum cuspidatum (Huzhang, HZ) is one of the commonly used traditional Chinese medicines for treating gouty arthritis (GA), but the specific mechanism is not clear. This study employed network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques to examine the molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of HZ on GA. The network pharmacology approach, including active ingredient and target screening, drug-compound-target-disease network construction, protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks, enrichment analysis, and molecular docking, was used to explore the mechanism of HZ against GA.
