The sensitive and accurate detection of copper ions is crucial for public health, medical research, and environmental monitoring. In this study, we developed a sensor based on template-assembly activation of the primer exchange reaction (PER) for the on-site detection of copper ions in blood. Copper ions triggered the assembly of two template fragments into a hairpin structure via a click-chemistry reaction, activating the PER.

Introduction: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) poses a significant therapeutic challenge, primarily due to delayed diagnosis and the limited efficacy of existing treatments.
Methods: To understand the pathogenesis and identify diagnostic biomarkers for LUAD in the early stage, we investigated differential miRNA expression in 33 stage I LUAD patients between tumor and matched paracancerous tissues by Illumina Sequencing. Target genes of differentially expressed miRNAs were predicted using TargetScan and miRDB databases and further analyzed by GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis.

Sepsis, characterized as a systemic inflammatory response triggered by pathogen invasion, represents a continuum that may progress from mild systemic infection to severe sepsis, potentially culminating in septic shock and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. A pivotal element in the pathogenesis and progression of sepsis involves the significant disruption of oncological metabolic networks, where cells within the pathological milieu exhibit metabolic functions that diverge from their healthy counterparts. Among these, purine metabolism plays a crucial role in nucleic acid synthesis.

Background And Aim: Prior research has established a relationship between homocysteine (Hcy) and serum uric acid (SUA) levels; however, the precise mechanisms underlying this association remain unclear. The objective of this research was to explore the correlation between SUA and Hcy and to evaluate the possible role of kidney function as a mediator in the connection between SUA and Hcy.
Methods And Results: Consecutive enrollment of 16870 participants aged 20-60 years was conducted at the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University.

Background: The blastocyst-stage embryo has been considered more advantageous for increasing the cumulative live birth rate (CLBR) at fresh embryo transfer (ET) compared to the cleavage-stage embryo. However, it remains uncertain whether this advantage extends to specialized subpopulations, such as women with thin endometrium (TE), who are characteristic of impaired endometrial receptivity. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the difference in the CLBR between cleavage-stage and blastocyst-stage embryos at fresh ET specifically in women with TE.

Up to half of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, for which effective treatment options are lacking, resulting in a poor prognosis. Over the past few years, the combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors and anti-angiogenic targeted therapy has proven highly efficacious in treating advanced HCC, significantly extending patients' survival and providing a potential for sequential curative surgery. After sequential curative hepatectomy or liver transplantation following conversion therapy, patients can receive long-term survival benefits.

Diabetic kidney disease (DKD), one of the most prevalent microvascular complications of diabetes, arises from dysregulated glucose and lipid metabolism induced by hyperglycemia, resulting in the deterioration of renal cells such as podocytes and tubular epithelial cells. Programmed cell death (PCD), comprising apoptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis, represents a spectrum of cell demise processes intricately governed by genetic mechanisms in vivo. Under physiological conditions, PCD facilitates the turnover of cellular populations and serves as a protective mechanism to eliminate impaired podocytes or tubular epithelial cells, thereby preserving renal tissue homeostasis amidst hyperglycemic stress.

Background: Doxorubicin (DOX)-induced myocardial cardiotoxicity (DIC) severely limits its clinical application, and there is no optimal therapeutic agent available. Recent studies revealed that activation of BNIP3-mediated mitophagy and the inhibition of m5C RNA methylation played a crucial role in DIC. Isoliquiritin (ISL) has remarkable cardiac protective effect.

N-methyladenosine (m1A), a methylation of RNA, is gaining attention for its role in diverse biological processes. However, the potential roles of m1A regulatory-mediated methylation modifications in multiple myeloma (MM) remain unclear. The mRNA expression of m1A regulators in normal plasma (NP; n=9) and MM (n=174) bone marrow plasma cells was investigated and the m1A modification patterns of 559 MM samples based on the expression of 10 m1A-related regulatory genes were comprehensively evaluated.

Background: Osteosarcoma is the most prevalent among primary bone malignancies, and its standard intervention involves neoadjuvant chemotherapy - surgical adjuvant chemotherapy (MAP regimen) with adriamycin, cisplatin, and high-dose methotrexate. Early-stage osteosarcoma can be effectively treated with surgical resection along with chemotherapy or radiotherapy. However, as the cancer progresses, the efficacy of chemo- and radiotherapy decreases, and the associated problems increase.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by synovitis that can lead to joint deformities. To date, more than 18 million individuals worldwide have been diagnosed with RA, making it one of the most prevalent autoimmune diseases globally and posing a significant threat to public health and safety. Due to the complex pathogenesis of the disease, which involves autoimmunity, genetics, inflammation and oxidative stress in the body's tissues, the current drug therapy generally targets a single molecule, and effective and efficient drugs involving multiple levels and targets are lacking; thus, there is an urgent need for high-quality research and treatment in this field.

Background: Prediabetes and diabetes are both abnormal states of glucose metabolism (AGM) that can lead to severe complications. Early detection of AGM is crucial for timely intervention and treatment. However, fasting blood glucose (FBG) as a mass population screening method may fail to identify some individuals who are actually AGM but with normoglycemia.

Background: The existence of an association between physical activity (PA) and asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been confirmed in observational studies. Therefore, it is necessary to reveal whether there is a risk-effect relationship between physical activity and asthma and COPD through Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Materials And Methods: Univariate Mendelian randomization (UVMR) analyses were performed to examine the associations between moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA), vigorous physical activity (VPA), accelerometer-assessed physical activity (AA), and strenuous exercise or other exercise (SSOE) with asthma and COPD.
