The regulatory mechanism of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in autophagy is as yet not well established. In this research, we show that the long non-coding RNA MLLT4 antisense RNA 1 (lncRNA MLLT4-AS1) is induced by the MTORC inhibitor PP242 and rapamycin in cervical cells. Overexpression of MLLT4-AS1 promotes autophagy and inhibits tumorigenesis and the migration of cervical cancer cells, whereas knockdown of MLLT4-AS1 attenuates PP242-induced autophagy.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the potential beneficial effects of periarticular injection (PAI) of multimodal drugs on the inflammatory response and joint function after hip arthroplasty in elderly patients with osteoporotic femoral neck fractures.

Methods: Fifty six elderly patients with unilateral osteoporotic femoral neck fractures were randomly allocated to 2 groups: the PAI group, which received the multimodal drug PAI intraoperatively before incision closure, and the control group, which received an injection of saline at the same time as placebo. The C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and IL-6 levels as well as the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in peripheral venous blood samples were measured, along with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score with activity and Harris hip score preoperation at 1, 2, 4, 7, and 14 days as well as 1 and 3 months post-operation.

Chemokine (C‑X‑C motif) ligand 1 (CXCL1), a member of the CXC chemokine family, has been reported to be a critical factor in inflammatory diseases and tumor progression; however, its functions and molecular mechanisms in estrogen receptor α (ER)‑negative breast cancer (BC) remain largely unknown. The present study demonstrated that CXCL1 was upregulated in ER‑negative BC tissues and cell lines compared with ER‑positive tissues and cell lines. Treatment with recombinant human CXCL1 protein promoted ER‑negative BC cell migration and invasion in a dose‑dependent manner, and stimulated the activation of phosphorylated (p)‑ extracellular signal‑regulated kinase (ERK)1/2, but not p‑STAT3 or p‑AKT.

Radioresistant cervical cancer is likely to give rise to local recurrence, distant metastatic relapse, and decreased survival rates. In this follow-up of the ENSURE study, we evaluated progression-free survival (PFS) with first-line erlotinib followed by chemotherapy at progression versus the inverse treatment sequence in 175 Chinese patients with EGFR mutation-positive NSCLC.

The third-generation EGFR inhibitor, osimertinib (AZD9291), selectively and irreversibly inhibits EGFR activating and T790 M mutants while sparing wild-type EGFR. Osimertinib is now an approved drug for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with activating EGFR mutations (first-line) or those who have become resistant to 1st generation EGFR inhibitors through the T790 M mutation (second-line). Objective: To observe the differences in curative effects between prophylactic and therapeutic administrations of Gliclazide (GLZ) or Methylcobalamin (MCA) on diabetic peripheral neuropathy in rats.

Methods: GLZ (25 mg/kg/day) or MCA (175 μg/kg/day) was orally administrated prophylactically to streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats for 8 weeks before diabetic peripheral neuropathy developed or administrated therapeutically after diabetic peripheral neuropathy developed, respectively.
