Laryngeal papillomatosis is a benign disease in the larynx but with the potential to develop into significant complications as a result of its high recurrence rate. CO2 laser and radiofrequency controlled ablation (coblation) have been used to treat recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, but detailed comparisons of their respective treatment outcomes are not fully investigated. This retrospective study examines the procedure time, time interval between interventions, blood loss during operation, post-operative complications and pain scores among patients who received either CO2 laser or radiofrequency coblation interventions for laryngotracheal recurrent respiratory papillomatosis.

The Enlargement of Abdominal Lymph Nodes Is a Characteristic of Autoimmune Liver Disease.

Mediators Inflamm

February 2021

Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, General Hospital, Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin Institute of Digestive Disease, Tianjin 300052, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated the incidence of enlarged abdominal lymph nodes in patients with autoimmune liver diseases (AILD) compared to those with viral hepatitis, connective tissue disease (CTD), and healthy individuals.
  • Enlarged lymph nodes were found in about 70% of AILD patients, with related increases in certain biochemical markers, indicating a potential link between lymph node size and disease activity.
  • The findings suggest that lymph node enlargement could serve as a noninvasive indicator of inflammation in AILD, highlighting its clinical significance.

Knockdown of TRIM27 expression suppresses the dysfunction of mesangial cells in lupus nephritis by FoxO1 pathway.

J Cell Physiol

July 2019

Department of Pathology, Hebei Medical University, Key Laboratory of Kidney Diseases of Hebei Province, Shijiazhuang, China.

TRIM27 (tripartite motif-containing 27) is a member of the TRIM (tripartite motif) protein family and participates in a variety of biological processes. Some research has reported that TRIM27 was highly expressed in certain kinds of carcinoma cells and tissues and played an important role in the proliferation of carcinoma cells. However, whether TRIM27 takes part in the progression of lupus nephritis (LN) especially in cells proliferation remains unclear.

Nudel involvement in the high-glucose-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition of tubular epithelial cells.

Am J Physiol Renal Physiol

January 2019

Department of Pathology, Hebei Medical University, Key Laboratory of Kidney Diseases of Hebei Province , Shijiazhuang, Hebei , China.

Nudel is a newly discovered factor related to cell migration. The tubular epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) includes four steps: the loss of the adhesive properties of epithelial cells, the acquisition of a mesenchymal cell phenotype, the destruction of the tubular basal membrane, and the migration into the renal interstitium. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of Nudel in the high-glucose-induced EMT of tubular epithelial cells.

Background: Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) is characterized by gas-filled cysts in the intestinal submucosa and subserosa. There are few reports of PCI occurring in duodenum and rectum. Here we demonstrated four different endoscopic manifestations of PCI and three cases with intestinal stricture all were successfully managed by medical conservative treatment.

Objective: To investigate the expression of LncRNA KCNQ1OT1 in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and to analyze the relation of LncRNA KCNQ1OT1 expression levels with clinicopathological features.

Methods: A total of 68 patients with AML were enrolled in the study, 48 out of them were suffered from acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and 20 reached to complete remission (CR), 30 age-matched patients with iron-deficient anemia were included in control group, the peripheral blood samples of all the patients were collected, and the real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of LncRNA KCNQ1OT1, meanwhile, the correlation of its expression with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis was analyzed.

Results: The expression of LncRNA KCNQ1OT1 in AML patients was significantly higher than that in the patient with complete remission and iron-deficient anemia (F=14.

Increasing evidence has indicated that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in various biological processes, including glioma. However, the underlying mechanism of lncRNAs in gliomagenesis is still ambiguous. In this study, we aim to investigate the role of long intergenic noncoding RNA 00958 (LINC00958) in the tumorigenesis of glioma.

Hypoxic pulmonary hypertension is characterized by the remodeling of pulmonary artery. Previously we showed that tanshinone IIA, one lipid-soluble component from the Chinese herb Danshen, ameliorated hypoxic pulmonary hypertension by inhibiting pulmonary artery remodeling. Here we explored the effects of danshensu, one water-soluble component of Danshen, on hypoxic pulmonary hypertension and its mechanism.

Gliomas are the most common and aggressive types of tumors in human brain, of which the prognosis remains dismal because of their biological behavior. The involvement of miRNAs in tumorigenesis of various kinds of cancers drives us to explore new miRNAs related to gliomas. We measured expression level of miR‑95‑3p by qRT-PCR in human glioma and non-neoplasm brain tissues and found that higher level of miR‑95‑3p in glioma tissues of higher grade.
