According to the inclusion criteria of the study, 489 cases were included.

Background: Delirium is a common postoperative complication in older patients undergoing thoracic surgery and presages poor outcomes. Postoperative pain is an important factor in the progression of delirium. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical effects of insulin resistance (IR) in the development of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in elderly adults with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Methods: Seventy-eight patients with T2DM were recruited and divided into MCI group (<26, n=48) and normal group (≥26, n=30) according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score. The fasting plasma glucose (FPG), HbA1c, and fasting plasma C-peptide (FPC) were examined and compared between the two groups.

Methods: A total of 253 patients with unilateral PTMC and contralateral thyroid benign nodules identified by ultrasound before thyroidectomy was retrospectively analysed. All patients underwent near-total or total thyroidectomy.

Methods: Cognitive function was examined in Parkinson's disease with dementia (PDD) patients (n = 30), Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients (n = 30) and healthy elderly control subjects (n = 60).
