Objectives: Motor cognitive risk (MCR) syndrome, defined as the cooccurrence of subjective cognitive complaints and a slow gait speed, is a form of pre-dementia condition. Balance has previously been associated with cognitive function. However, to date, no study has examined the relationship between balance and MCR in a large cohort of older adults.

Objective: To establish and validate a model based on hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign (HMCAS) radiomics features for predicting hemorrhagic transformation (HT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) after endovascular treatment (EVT).
Methods: Patients with AIS who presented with HMCAS on non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) at admission and underwent EVT at three comprehensive hospitals between June 2020 and January 2024 were recruited for this retrospective study. A radiomics model was constructed using the HMCAS radiomics features most strongly associated with HT.

Objective: To analyse the effects of titanium implants coated with various antimicrobial peptide (AMP) layers on bacterial growth and early biofilm formation around the implants.
Methods: A novel AMP mixture was constructed using Type I collagen, sulfonated succinimide 4- (N-Maleimidylphenyl) butyrate, and AMPs. Titanium discs treated with chitosan and hyaluronic acid solutions were reacted with the AMP mixture to obtain AMP-coated titanium discs.

Objective: To identify risk factors for postoperative recurrence in patients with eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (ECRSwNP) and develop a nomogram prediction model for identifying patients at high risk of recurrence.
Methods: A cohort study involving 200 ECRSwNP patients analyzed clinical data for recurrence predictors using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. A nomogram model was developed and validated using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves.

Problem: Investigating the impact of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection on female fertility and laboratory outcomes in patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment who were initially uninfected but later became infected.
Methods Of The Study: This self-controlled study included 197 patients who underwent repeated oocyte retrieval before and after SARS-CoV-2 infection between March 2021 and April 2023, of which 117 used the same ovarian stimulation protocol within a consistent age range. We evaluated the ovarian reserve, ovarian response, and laboratory outcomes in patients before and after SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Background: Numerous compelling observational studies have demonstrated a plausible correlation between the white blood cell count and the susceptibility to sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL). Nevertheless, the exact causal relationship between these two factors remains ambiguous. The objective of our study was to assess the causal impact of white blood cell count on sudden sensorineural hearing loss through the implementation of a bidirectional and multivariable Mendelian randomization (MR) methodology.

Background: Liver cancer is a significant cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide and requires tailored treatment strategies for different types. However, preoperative accurate diagnosis of the type presents a challenge. This study aims to develop an automatic diagnostic model based on multi-phase contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) images to distinguish between hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), and normal individuals.

Background: Previous studies comparing the efficacy and safety of different treatment regimens for lupus nephritis are scarce. Moreover, confounding factors such as the duration of follow-up were hardly adjusted in those studies, potentially compromising the results and their extents to clinical settings.
Objective: To rigorously investigate the efficacy and safety of biologics in patients with lupus nephritis using Bayesian network meta-regression analyses that adjust for the follow-up period, in order to provide more robust evidence for clinicians.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the potential correlation between the nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 2 (NR3C2) and outcomes of colon cancer, along with the mechanisms underlying this association.
Method: mRNA (messenger RNA) data and clinical records pertaining to colon cancer were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. The analysis of NR3C2 expression discrepancies between normal colon and tumor tissues was conducted using R software.

Background: Skin cancer, a prevalent form of cancer that is on the rise worldwide, requires proactive prevention strategies to reduce the burden of screening, treatment, and mortality. The KEGG research highlighted the significant involvement of red module genes in protein digestion and absorption. These findings provide valuable insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms associated with skin cancer susceptibility, offering potential targets for further research and development of preventive strategies.

Purpose: To develop and validate a model for predicting suboptimal debulking surgery (SDS) of serous ovarian carcinoma (SOC) using radiomics method, clinical and MRI features.
Methods: 228 patients eligible from institution A (randomly divided into the training and internal validation cohorts) and 45 patients from institution B (external validation cohort) were collected and retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent abdominal pelvic enhanced MRI scan, including T2-weighted imaging fat-suppressed fast spin-echo (T2FSE), T1-weighted dual-echo magnetic resonance imaging (T1DEI), diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), and T1 with contrast enhancement (T1CE).
Objective: The aim of this study was to develop a predictive model for uncorrected/actual fluid intelligence scores in 9-10 year old children using magnetic resonance T1-weighted imaging. Explore the predictive performance of an autoencoder model based on reconstruction regularization for fluid intelligence in adolescents.
Methods: We collected actual fluid intelligence scores and T1-weighted MRIs of 11,534 adolescents who completed baseline tasks from ABCD Data Release 3.
