Background: Poor differentiation predicts adverse outcomes in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC), but there is no standardized, reliable grading system.
Objective: To explore which histologic features have the greatest impact on CSCC differentiation interrater agreement.
Materials And Methods: In a prior study, 40 raters graded differentiation for 45 squamous cell carcinomas, and percent interrater agreements were calculated.

Background: It has not been clearly established if skin cancer or melanoma are manifestations of BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation carrier status. Estimating the risk of skin cancer is an important step towards developing screening recommendations.
Methods: We report the findings of a prospective cohort study of 6,207 women from North America who carry BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations.

Programmed cell death receptor 1/Programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) checkpoint pathway is responsible for the control of immune cell responses. Immunotherapy using checkpoint inhibitors, such as anti-PD-L1 therapy, aids disease management and potentiates clinical outcomes. This study aimed to analyze the performance of the Leica Biosystems (LBS) USA FDA class I in vitro diagnostic monoclonal antibody (clone 73-10) to detect PD-L1 expression in breast, colorectal, and hepatocellular carcinomas compared with the class III FDA-approved PD-L1 detecting antibodies [SP263 (Ventana), 22C3 (Dako), and 28-8 (Dako)] using 208 unique tissue microarray-based cases for each tumor type.

Objective(s): To evaluate whether extended dosing of antibiotics (ABX) after cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with large bowel resection for advanced ovarian cancer is associated with reduced incidence of surgical site infection (SSI) compared to standard intra-operative dosing and evaluate predictors of SSI.
Methods: A retrospective single-institution cohort study was performed in patients with stage III/IV ovarian cancer who underwent CRS from 2009 to 2017. Patients were divided into two cohorts: 1) standard intra-operative dosing ABX and 2) extended post-operative ABX.

Background: Imaging has been shown to impact management and disease outcomes in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, but the literature on optimal modalities is lacking.
Objective: To perform a systematic review evaluating the performance of various imaging studies for the detection of perineural spread, bony invasion, nodal metastasis (NM), and distant metastasis in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
Materials And Methods: Four databases were searched for relevant terms.

Objective: Bioengineered tracheal grafts are a potential solution for the repair of long-segment tracheal defects. A recent advancement is partially decellularized tracheal grafts (PDTGs) which enable regeneration of host epithelium and retain viable donor chondrocytes for hypothesized benefits to mechanical properties. We propose a novel and tunable 3D-printed bioreactor for creating large animal PDTG that brings this technology closer to the bedside.

A large majority of primary hepatobiliary tumors are hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC), with the remainer being cholangiocarcinoma. While surgical resection remains the gold standard treatment for hepatobiliary tumors, relatively few patients are operative candidates, and systemic treatments have limited effectiveness. Locoregional therapies offer significant promise in the management of HCC.

As cancer therapies increase in effectiveness and patients' life expectancies improve, balancing oncologic efficacy while reducing acute and long-term cardiovascular toxicities has become of paramount importance. To address this pressing need, the Cardiology Oncology Innovation Network (COIN) was formed to bring together domain experts with the overarching goal of collaboratively investigating, applying, and educating widely on various forms of innovation to improve the quality of life and cardiovascular healthcare of patients undergoing and surviving cancer therapies. The COIN mission pillars of innovation, collaboration, and education have been implemented with cross-collaboration among academic institutions, private and public establishments, and industry and technology companies.

Aim: To evaluate the subclinical cardiac involvement in COVID-19 patients without clinical cardiac evidence using cardiac MR imaging.
Material And Methods: Participants recovered from COVID-19 without cardiac symptoms and no cardiovascular medical history were enrolled in a prospective cohort study. They underwent baseline cardiac MR and follow-up cardiac MR > 300 days after discharge (n = 20).

Importance: Preventive bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy is offered to women at high risk of ovarian cancer who carry a pathogenic variant in BRCA1 or BRCA2; however, the association of oophorectomy with all-cause mortality has not been clearly defined.
Objective: To evaluate the association between bilateral oophorectomy and all-cause mortality among women with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 sequence variation.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this international, longitudinal cohort study of women with BRCA sequence variations, information on bilateral oophorectomy was obtained via biennial questionnaire.

Importance: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) surveillance is offered to women with a pathogenic variant in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene who face a high lifetime risk of breast cancer. Surveillance with MRI is effective in downstaging breast cancers, but the association of MRI surveillance with mortality risk has not been well defined.
Objective: To compare breast cancer mortality rates in women with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 sequence variation who entered an MRI surveillance program with those who did not.

Background: Solid organ transplant recipients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) have an increased risk of poor outcomes. However, a recent study demonstrated that immunosuppression is not an independent risk factor for these poor outcomes after controlling for primary tumor stage.
Objective: To evaluate whether transplant status is an independent risk factor for poor outcomes in CSCC.

Background: The modified Rankin Scale (mRS) is a clinician-reported scale that measures the degree of disability in patients who suffered a stroke. Patients' perception of a meaningful recovery from severe stroke, expected value of a stroke intervention, and the effect of disparities are largely unknown.
Methods: We conducted a survey of patients, their family members, and accompanying visitors to understand their personal preferences and expectations for acute strokes potentially eligible for acute endovascular intervention using a hypothetical scenario of a severe stroke in a standardized questionnaire.

Purpose: To understand referral practices for rectal cancer surgical care and to secondarily determine differences in referral practices by two main hypothesized drivers of referral: the rurality of the community endoscopists' practice and their affiliation with a colorectal surgeon.
Methods: Community gastroenterologists and general surgeons in Iowa completed a mailed questionnaire on practice demographics, volume, and referral practices for rectal cancer patients. Rurality was operationalized with RUCA codes.

Objective: The expanded endonasal transpterygoid approach (EETA) is used to access the middle and posterior fossa through the pterygoid process. Traditionally, the eustachian tube (ET) was resected during EETA, which often required subsequent myringotomy for inner ear drainage. Anterolateral transposition of the ET was proposed to decrease potential morbidity associated with resection.
