Background & Aims: Current guidelines recommend a 2-step approach for risk stratification in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) with Fibrosis-4 index (FIB-4) followed by liver stiffness measurement (LSM) by vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE) or similar second-line tests. This study aimed to examine to prognostic performance of this approach.
Methods: The VCTE-Prognosis Study was a longitudinal study of patients with MASLD who had undergone VCTE examinations at 16 centres from the US, Europe and Asia with subsequent follow-up for clinical events.

Background: The septum is often underdeveloped in East Asian populations, and traditional endogenous extension stents may not adequately fulfill the requirements for rhinoplasty. Herein, we present an innovative exogenous extension framework featuring a mortise and tenon structure specifically designed for East Asians.
Methods: This framework comprises a mushroom-shaped rib cartilage component and a lancet-shaped expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) element, which are interconnected through a mortise and tenon design.
Introduction: Effective health management is crucial for elderly patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). This study applied a Psycho-Cardiology model to CHD management, aiming to assess psychological stress among patients with mild CHD and identify potential influencing factors to provide substantiating evidence.
Methods: This longitudinal study was based on a 9-year follow-up program of a community population in Shanghai, China.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) often results in persistent disabilities, primarily due to deficient axon regeneration and irreversible neuronal loss. Sports training is a widely adopted intervention in clinical practice and research to promote axonal sprouting and synaptic plasticity, thereby improving motor function after SCI. However, the precise mechanisms by which sports training improves motor function after SCI remain incompletely understood.

Background: The external nasal alar reduction can be associated with many complications, such as nostril malformation and significant scarring. The authors proposed a 3-part analysis method for the design of nasal alar reduction surgery with the aim of improving nasal alar morphology more precisely.
Methods: The 3-part analysis was based on the patient's flared nose, wide nasal base, and drooping ala, respectively.

Background: A variety of congenital or acquired conditions can cause craniomaxillofacial bone defects, resulting in a heavy financial burden and psychological stress. Guided bone self-generation with periosteum-preserved has great potential for reconstructing large bone defects.
Methods: A swine model of guided bone regeneration with occlusive periosteum was established, the rib segment was removed, and the periosteum was sutured to form a closed regeneration chamber.

Background: The incidence of Barrett's esophagus (BE) in China is lower compared to the Western populations. Hence, studies conducted in the Chinese population has been limited. The current treatment options available for BE treatment includes argon plasma coagulation (APC), radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation, all with varying degrees of success.

Background: The reliability and repeatability of stereophotogrammetry and CT in 3-dimensional anthropometric facial analysis were investigated in this study, which also explored the clinical application of supine CT.
Method: In this study, 3D CT and 3dMD stereophotogrammetry were used on 20 healthy volunteers. The fitting distance between stereophotogrammetry and CT scans at landmark points was measured, along with facial feature measurements (Al-Al) face width (Go-Go, Zy-Zy, Ex-Ex), and hemi-face height (Sn-Gn).

Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) have emerged as a promising platform for clinical and translational studies. A strong correlation exists between clinical outcomes and the use of PDOs to predict the efficacy of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. To standardize interpretation and enhance scientific communication in the field of cancer precision medicine, we revisit the concept of PDO-based drug sensitivity testing (DST).

Introduction: Although the effectiveness of pentoxifylline (PF) as a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase to enhance sperm motility through increasing cyclic nucleotide in cases of absolute asthenozoospermia has been demonstrated for ICSI, data related to babies born from the PF-ICSI are still severely lacking. Concerns have been raised regarding the potential embryotoxicity of PF due to the controversial results obtained from the analysis of this compound on animal embryo development. This study aimed to determine whether the application of PF to trigger frozen-thawed TESA (testicular sperm aspiration) spermatozoa increases the risk of adverse obstetric and neonatal outcomes compared with non-PF frozen-thawed TESA ICSI and conventional ICSI using fresh ejaculation.

Intervertebral disc is a highly rhythmical tissue. As a key factor linking biorhythm and inflammatory response, the shielding effect of NR1D1 in the process of intervertebral disc degeneration remains unclear. Here, we first confirmed that NR1D1 in the nucleus pulposus tissue presents periodic rhythmic changes and decreases in expression with intervertebral disc degeneration.

The goal of this study was to investigate the clinical characteristics, prognostic variables, and survival of patients with primary mediastinal diffuse large B cell lymphoma (PMBCL) in the rituximab era. The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database was used to identify PMBCL patients diagnosed between 2000 and 2019. The Kaplan-Meier (K-M) technique and log-rank test were used to assess overall survival (OS) and disease-specific survival (DSS).

Purpose: Uveal melanoma (UM) with BAP1 inactivating mutations has a high risk of metastasis, but the mechanism behind BAP1 deficiency driving UM metastasis is unknown.
Methods: We analyzed the single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-Seq) data comprised primary and metastatic UM with or without BAP1 mutations (MUTs) to reveal inter- and intra-tumor heterogeneity among different groups. Then, an immune-competent mouse liver metastatic model was used to explore the role of ITGB2-ICAM1 in BAP1-associated UM metastasis.
