Introduction: Lung cancer remains the primary cause of cancer-related deaths on a global scale. Surgery is the main therapeutic option for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the optimal surgical approach for lymph node assessment in NSCLC resection remains controversial, and it is still uncertain whether lymph node dissection (LND) is more effective in reducing recurrence and metastasis rates in NSCLC compared with lymph node sampling (LNS).

Background And Aims: The application of antifibrotic drugs to treat patients with chronic liver diseases who are receiving antiviral therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been established. Here, we aimed to assess the impact of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Fuzheng Huayu (FZHY) on the occurrence of HCC in patients with hepatitis B virus-related compensated cirrhosis receiving the antiviral drug entecavir (ETV).
Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort study was performed.

Background: Hepatic Inflammatory Pseudotumor (IPT) is an infrequent condition often masquerading as a malignant tumor, resulting in misdiagnosis and unnecessary surgical resection. The emerging concept of IgG4-related diseases (IgG4-RD) has gained widespread recognition, encompassing entities like IgG4-related hepatic IPT. Clinically and radiologically, corticosteroids and immunosuppressive therapies have proven effective in managing this condition.

Background: The efficacy and side effects of voriconazole plus 5-flucytosine (Vori + 5-FC) versus amphotericin B deoxycholate plus 5-flucytosine (AmBd + 5-FC) as an induction treatment for cryptococcal meningitis are unknown.
Methods: Forty-seven patients treated with Vori + 5-FC and 92 patients treated with AmBd + 5-FC were included in the current study after propensity score matching (PSM) at a ratio of 1:2. Two-week laboratory test results and 90-day mortality were compared between the two groups.

BarH-like homeobox 2 (BARX2) has been identified to play a key role in the development of multiple cancers. Meanwhile, BARX2 may be an independent prognostic biomarker for patients suffering from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Nevertheless, the regulatory role of BARX2 in HCC is still unclear and needs to be unveiled.

Objectives: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a widely used method for treating dengue fever in China. TCM improves the symptoms of patients with dengue, but there is no standard TCM prescription for dengue fever. This real-world study aimed to evaluate the effects of Chai-Shi-Jie-Du (CSJD) granules for the treatment of dengue fever and the underlying mechanisms.

Aspirin decreases liver fibrosis index and inflammation levels. However, the exact mechanism underlying the effects of aspirin are yet to be elucidated. The aim of the study was to investigate the potential protective effects of aspirin on carbon tetrachloride (CCl)-induced hepatic fibrosis in Sprague-Dawley rats.

To explore the relationship between the hepatic caudate lobe boundary and the ductal system so as to guide the identification of the anatomical relationship during liver surgery. The specific parts were observed and the liver parenchyma was removed according to 41 cadaveric liver autopsy specimens. The critical relationship between the hepatic caudate lobe and other ducts was observed to explore the reticular duct structure.

To investigate the clinical significance of a quick screening model for symptomatic bacterascites for guided antibiotic therapy. Data were collected prospectively from 24 cases of cirrhotic ascites who were newly admitted to Nanchang Ninth Hospital between September 2016 and February 2017. No clear indication for antibiotic treatment was used when the number of polymorphonuclear cells in ascites was <250 cells/mm.

Objective: Third-generation cephalosporins (3rd GCs) have recently become controversial as the first-line strategy for empirical spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) treatment. This study aimed to identify SBP treatment efficacy predictors of 3rd GCs.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, 279 cirrhosis patients with SBP who received 3rd GC monotherapy for initial empirical treatment from 2013 to 2019 were included.

The acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) development is highly dynamic. Currently, no satisfactory algorithm identifies patients with HBV at risk of this complication. The aim of the study was to characterize ACLF development in hospitalized HBV-related patients without previous decompensation and to test the performance of traditional prognostic models in ruling out ACLF development within 28 days on admission we conducted a cohort study.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Antiviral therapy can alleviate liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B, but it has a limited effect on advanced liver fibrosis/cirrhosis. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), particularly FuZheng HuaYu (FZHY) tablet, appears to have an antifibrotic effect, but its improving resolution of hepatitis b virus (HBV) -associated advanced fibrosis and experienced anti-viral treatment has not been investigated.
Aim Of The Study: To observe the safety and efficacy of adjunctive FZHY on the HBV-associated cirrhosis patients who received 2 years of entecavir but still with advanced fibrosis.

Xiyanping (XYP) is a Chinese herbal medicine used in the clinic to treat respiratory infection and pneumonia. Recent evidence identified XYP as a potential inhibitor of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, implying XYP as a possible treatment for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Here, we conducted a prospective, multicenter, open-label and randomized controlled trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of XYP injection in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19.
