Introduction: The SCUBY project aimed to provide knowledge on the scaling-up of an Integrated Care Package (ICP) for type 2 diabetes and hypertension across three distinct health systems (Cambodia, Slovenia, and Belgium). Here, we analyse the different elements of the country-specific scale-up roadmaps to identify similarities and differences, and share lessons learned.

Methods: Thematic analysis was used to derive crucial roadmap elements from key SCUBY documents (n = 20), including policy briefs, interim reports, research outputs, and consortium meeting notes.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes high worldwide infant mortality, as well as a high disease burden in the elderly. Neurostimulation, for example dorsal root ganglion stimulation (DRGS), is increasingly used for managing chronic pain, including among women of reproductive age. We present the case of a 33-year-old patient with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) implanted with DRGS who subsequently became pregnant twice. Both pregnancies resulted in the delivery of healthy newborns via caesarean section under successful spinal anaesthesia, with no (device) complications.

Current biomedical titanium alloys have been repurposed from other industries, which has contributed to several biologically driven implant failure mechanisms.
