Intraparotid Facial Nerve Schwannoma in a Nine-Year-Old Patient: Diagnosis, Classification, and Surgical Approach Stages.

Intraparotid facial nerve schwannoma (IFNS) is rarely observed in children compared with adults. Only a few cases have been reported in the literature. After radiological imaging and fine needle aspiration biopsy, an IFNS diagnosis may be skipped and confused with pleomorphic adenoma, which has a high prevalence among patients who have a mass in the parotid gland.

Abusive head trauma: two case reports.

Abusive head trauma is a serious form of child abuse and mostly seen in infants below the age of two years as a result of a strong shaking by the caregiver who aims to stop the infant's crying. Characteristic symptoms include subdural hematomas, encephalopathy, retinal hemorrhages and fractures of the long bones. When physically examined, there are generally no externally visible signs.

Recurrent meningitis and frontal encephalocele as delayed complications of craniofacial trauma.

Frontal sinus back table fractures are seen rarely; also, typical presentation of frontal sinus encephalocele as a delayed complication of frontal sinus fracture is seen more rarely. We present a case of frontal encephalocele and recurrent meningitis as delayed complications of craniofacial trauma. Diagnosis, management, and treatment approaches of these complications are discussed.

A benign teratoma presenting as an obstruction of the nasal cavity: a case report.

Introduction: Teratoma refers to a neoplasm that recapitulates all three germ layers. Teratomas may be histologically mature and oncologically benign. Teratomas may also be histologically immature while being oncologically benign, or they may harbor malignant components and have the potential to exhibit an aggressive biological behavior.

Introduction: Anatomic variations of the paranasal sinuses are very common. The paranasal sinus anatomy should be carefully examined prior to performing endoscopic sinus surgery in terms of both existent pathologies and anatomic variations. The anatomy of the paranasal sinuses and its variations have gained importance, along with advances in coronal paranasal sinus computed tomography and extensive use of endoscopic sinus surgery.
