Background: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) has recently garnered increased attention due to immune infiltration. However, the role of membrane-associated protein 17 (MAP17) in NASH remains unclear, which prompted this study to explore its relationship with immune infiltration and its regulatory mechanisms.
Methods: We employed weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) to construct a gene co-expression network aimed at identifying key genes associated with NASH progression.

More than 1 million permanent pacemakers are implanted worldwide each year, half of which are in patients with high-grade atrioventricular block. Pacemakers provide adequate frequency support in the initial stage, but traditional right ventricular (RV) pacing may lead to or aggravate left ventricular dysfunction and arrhythmia. Several potential risk factors for heart failure and arrhythmias after pacemaker surgery have been identified, but their occurrence remains difficult to predict clinically.

Objective: Although the combination of atezolizumab and bevacizumab (A+B) shows promise for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), its response rate is still inadequate. Previous studies indicate that the integration of FOLFOX-based hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is advantageous for the management of HCC. This meta-analysis aims to assess the safety and efficacy of the A+B+TACE or HAIC therapy protocol in patients with advanced HCC.

Anxiety disorders, prevalent mental health conditions, receive significant attention globally due to their intricate etiology and the suboptimal effectiveness of existing therapies. Research is increasingly recognizing that the genesis of anxiety involves not only neurochemical brain alterations but also changes in gut microbiota. The microbiota-gut-brain axis (MGBA), serving as a bidirectional communication pathway between the gut microbiota and the central nervous system (CNS), is at the forefront of novel approaches to deciphering the complex pathophysiology of anxiety disorders.

Background: Albuminuria, a critical and sensitive indicator of vascular injury, has been linked to early kidney damage in patients with hypertension. High-quality physical activity (PA) may reduce urinary albumin excretion. Yet, the connection between PA patterns and albuminuria is still not well understood.

In this study, the expression and clinical value of miR-191-5p in sepsis and sepsis-induced left ventricular systolic dysfunction are explored, and the effects of miR-191-5p on inflammation and cardiac function in rats are examined by establishing a septic rat model. The expression level of serum miR-191-5p was detected via reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction. To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of miR-191-5p in sepsis, the receiver operator characteristic curve was established.

Identifying novel therapeutic targets for hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has become a key goal in liver cancer research. Even though long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) do not code proteins, they could regulate the expression of functional genes and thus mediate disease development. The aim of this study was to estimate the role of lncRNA POLR2J4 (POLR2J4) in the progression of hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC) to pinpoint a potential biomarker.

Background: The high recurrence rate after liver resection emphasizes the urgent need for neoadjuvant therapy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) to enhance the overall prognosis for patients. Immune checkpoint inhibitors, camrelizumab combined with an anti-angiogenic tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) apatinib, have emerged as a first-line treatment option for patients with unresectable HCC, yet its neoadjuvant application in combination with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in HCC remains unexplored. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of sequential TACE, camrelizumab, and apatinib as a neoadjuvant therapy for single, huge HCC.
