Background: Chromosomal instability (CIN), a hallmark of cancer, is commonly linked to poor prognosis in high-grade prostate cancer (PCa). Paradoxically, excessively high levels of CIN may impair cancer cell viability. Consequently, understanding how tumours adapt to CIN is critical for identifying novel therapeutic targets.

Background: Microwave ablation is a new, minimally invasive technique for the treatment of thyroid nodules. Hyperthyroidism due to destructive thyroiditis is a known risk of microwave ablation, though it occurs in only a minority of cases. We report a rare case of a patient diagnosed with Graves' disease nearly six months after undergoing microwave ablation of a thyroid nodule.

Rationale: The Chemical Optimization of Cerebral Embolectomy (CHOICE) trial suggested that the administration of intra-arterial alteplase after successful endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) may improve neurological outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (AIS-LVO) in the anterior circulation. However, the use of adjunctive intra-arterial alteplase following successful EVT in acute posterior circulation stroke remains unexplored.
Aims: This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of intra-arterial alteplase after successful EVT for AIS-LVO in the posterior circulation.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with invasive non-mucinous adenocarcinoma (INMA) being the most common type and carrying a poor prognosis. In 2020, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) pathology committee proposed a new histological grading system, which offers more precise prognostic assessments by combining the proportions of major and high-grade histological patterns. Accurate identification of lung INMA grading is crucial for clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and prognosis evaluation.

Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is considered the tip of the iceberg for cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, there is still conflicting evidence regarding their relationship. Recently, a validated tool for the Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) risk score has provided a key opportunity to delve deeper into the relationship between ED and CVD.

Liver fibrosis represents a reversible pathophysiological process, caused by chronic inflammation stemming from hepatocyte damage. It delineates the initial stage in the progression of chronic liver disease. This pathological progression is characterized by the excessive accumulation of the extracellular matrix (ECM), which leads to significant structural disruption and ultimately impairs liver function.

Aims: A notable scarcity of research has focused on examining alterations in gut microbiota and its metabolites within tacrolimus (TAC)-induced diabetes models.
Methods: Tacrolimus-induced changes in glucose and lipid metabolism indices were analyzed through different routes of administration. The potential role of gut microbiota and its metabolites in TAC-induced diabetes was investigated using 16S rRNA sequencing and non-targeted metabolomics.

Objectives: Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) Score is an effective tool for the assessment of malnutrition and proved to be associated with survival of Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients. We investigated the impact of CONUT score on specific subgroups of DLBCL patients, including age and International prognostic Index (IPI) risk groups.
Methods: Data of 287 newly diagnosed DLBCL in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were retrospectively collected.

Background: At present, few articles compare the differences between robot-assisted thoracic surgeries (RATSs) and video-assisted thoracic surgeries (VATSs) in the day surgery model and there is also little literature on what factors influence delayed discharge from day surgery. This study aims to compare short-term outcomes between RATS and VATS for segmental lung resection in a day surgery setting, and to identify risk factors for delayed discharge.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 204 patients with early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who underwent segmental lung resection via RATS or VATS at the First People's Hospital of Changzhou City from January 2021 to December 2023.

Background: The precision of segmentectomy/subsegmentectomy for ground glass opacity (GGO)-dominant cT1a-bN0 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including mono-segmentectomy, mono-subsegmentectomy, combined subsegmentectomies, and single segmentectomy with adjacent subsegmentectomy, has improved. The aim of this study is to investigate their positional indications by focusing on the three-dimensional location of lesions, utilizing three-dimensional computed tomography bronchography and angiography (3D-CTBA).
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 195 patients with GGO-dominant cT1a-bN0 NSCLC who underwent segmentectomy/subsegmentectomy between August 2015 and November 2020.

To observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of albumin-bound paclitaxel as first-line treatment for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer in China, and to explore the prognosis-related molecules in pancreatic cancer based on next-generation sequencing (NGS) of tumor tissues. From December 2018 to December 2020, patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer were recruited to accept albumin-bound paclitaxel as first-line treatment in the oncology departments of 24 hospitals in East China. The primary endpoints were overall survival (OS) and treatment related adverse events, and the secondary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS).

The increasing demand for disease modeling, preclinical drug testing, and long waiting lists for alternative organ substitutes has posed significant challenges to current limitations in organoid technology. Consequently, organoid technology has emerged as a cutting-edge tool capable of accurately recapitulating the complexity of actual organs in physiology and functionality. To bridge the gaps between basic research and pharmaceutical as well as clinical applications, efforts have been made to develop organoids from tissue-derived stem cells or pluripotent stem cells.

Objective: Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a chronic progressive autoimmune disease with unclear etiology. As a bioactive metabolite of Vitamin D, 1,25(OH)D can stimulate the production of tolerogenic dendritic cells (DCs) that overexpress programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1). Although these cells have been shown to play a part in autoimmune diseases, their role in AIH remains unclear.

Osteoporosis, a metabolic disorder, remains challenging to treat due to limited understanding of its underlying mechanism. The annual cycle of "cyclic physiological osteoporosis (CPO)" and its full reversal in male deer represents a unique natural model for studying this condition. Deer antlers, weighing up to 25 kg/pair, derive over 60% of their mineral contents from deer skeleton during mineralization.
