Does T1c-2N0-1M0 triple negative breast cancer derive a benefit from neoadjuvant chemotherapy?

Objectives: Although neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) is a standard approach for operable triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), the potential risks brought by it should also be noticed. Is the expanding indication of NCT to T1cN0M0 population appropriate? We conducted an investigation to compare the long-term survival of small tumor TNBC between NCT and adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT).

Methods: For this propensity-matched analysis, we used data from Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.

Prediction of endotracheal tube size in pediatric patients: Development and validation of machine learning models.

Objective: We aimed to construct and validate machine learning models for endotracheal tube (ETT) size prediction in pediatric patients.

Methods: Data of 990 pediatric patients underwent endotracheal intubation were retrospectively collected between November 2019 and October 2021, and separated into cuffed and uncuffed endotracheal tube subgroups. Six machine learning algorithms, including support vector regression (SVR), logistic regression (LR), random forest (RF), gradient boosting tree (GBR), decision tree (DTR) and extreme gradient boosting tree (XGBR), were selected to construct and validate models using ten-fold cross validation in training set.

Objective: To investigate the skill and evaluate the accuracy for application of guide combined with probing the internal wall of pedicle screw trajectory for subaxial cervical pedicle screw placement.

Methods: Subaxial cervical pedicle screw was inserted in 11 patients by the guide combined with probing the internal wall of pedicle screw trajectory from January 2014 to October 2016, including 7 males and 4 females with an average age of 48.1 years(ranged 32 to 63 years).
