Disulfidptosis, a newly identified mode of programmed cell death, is yet to be comprehensively elucidated with respect to its multi-omics characteristics in tumors, specific pathogenic mechanisms, and antitumor functions in liver cancer. This study included 10,327 tumor and normal tissue samples from 33 cancer types. In-depth analyses using various bioinformatics tools revealed widespread dysregulation of disulfidptosis-related genes (DRGs) in pan-cancer and significant associations with prognosis, genetic variations, tumor stemness, methylation levels, and drug sensitivity.

Cuproptosis, as a recently discovered type of programmed cell death, occupies a very important role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and provides new methods for immunotherapy; however, the functions of cuproptosis in HCC are still unclear. We first analyzed the transcriptome data and clinical information of 526 HCC patients using multiple algorithms in R language and extensively described the copy number variation, prognostic and immune infiltration characteristics of cuproptosis related genes (CRGs). Then, the hub CRG related genes associated with prognosis through LASSO and Cox regression analyses and constructed a prognostic prediction model including multiple molecular markers and clinicopathological parameters through training cohorts, then this model was verified by test cohorts.

Background: Although many previous studies reported structural plasticity of the hippocampus and amygdala induced by electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) in major depressive disorder (MDD), yet the exact roles of both areas for antidepressant effects are still controversial.

Methods: In the current study, segmentation of amygdala and hippocampal sub-regions was used to investigate the longitudinal changes of volume, the relationship between volume and antidepressant effects, and prediction performances for ECT in MDD patients before and after ECT using two independent datasets.

Results: As a result, MDD patients showed selectively and consistently increased volume in the left lateral nucleus, right accessory basal nucleus, bilateral basal nucleus, bilateral corticoamygdaloid transition (CAT), bilateral paralaminar nucleus of the amygdala, and bilateral hippocampus-amygdala transition area (HATA) after ECT in both datasets, whereas marginally significant increase of volume in bilateral granule cell molecular layer of the head of dentate gyrus, the bilateral head of cornu ammonis (CA) 4, and left head of CA 3.

A Novel Risk-Score Model With Eight MiRNA Signatures for Overall Survival of Patients With Lung Adenocarcinoma.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common subtype of lung cancer with heterogeneous outcomes and diverse therapeutic responses. To classify patients into different groups and facilitate the suitable therapeutic strategy, we first selected eight microRNA (miRNA) signatures in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-LUAD cohort based on multi-strategy combination, including differential expression analysis, regulatory relationship, univariate survival analysis, importance clustering, and multivariate combinations analysis. Using the eight miRNA signatures, we further built novel risk scores based on the predefined cutoff and beta coefficients and divided the patients into high-risk and low-risk groups with significantly different overall survival time (-value < 2 e-16).
