The Levels and Associated Factors for Participation and Autonomy Among People with Parkinson´s Disease: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Promoting participation and autonomy (PA) in society has been highlighted as an ultimate goal of rehabilitation for people with chronic diseases by the World Health Organization, but few studies have focused on PA in people with Parkinson's disease (PD). Therefore, this study aimed to determine the level of PA in PD patients and investigate the associated psychological and behavioural factors.

Methods: PD patients were recruited from the Department of Neurology of the First Hospital Affiliated with Dalian Medical University using convenience sampling for this cross-sectional study.

Predicting delayed remission in Cushing's disease using radiomics models: a multi-center study.

Purpose: No multi-center radiomics models have been built to predict delayed remission (DR) after transsphenoidal surgery (TSS) in Cushing's disease (CD). The present study aims to build clinical and radiomics models based on data from three centers to predict DR after TSS in CD.

Methods: A total of 122 CD patients from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Xuanwu Hospital, and Fuzhou General Hospital were enrolled between January 2000 and January 2019.

Background & Objectives: Breast cancer being one of the most common malignant tumours among women, diagnostic modalities for early detection of the same become of paramount importance. In this context, the hand-held ultrasound (HHUS) and automated breast volume scanner (ABVS) could provide valuable information for clinicians to diagnose breast diseases. This study aimed to compare and evaluate the diagnostic performance of combined use of HHUS and ABVS for the differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions.

Design and Clinical Application of an Integrated Microfluidic Device for Circulating Tumor Cells Isolation and Single-Cell Analysis.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have been considered as an alternative to tissue biopsy for providing both germline-specific and tumor-derived genetic variations. Single-cell analysis of CTCs enables in-depth investigation of tumor heterogeneity and individualized clinical assessment. However, common CTC enrichment techniques generally have limitations of low throughput and cell damage.

Integrated multi-omics profiling of nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas.

Purpose: Genetic and epigenetic alterations are involved in pituitary adenoma pathogenesis, however the molecular basis of proliferative nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs) remains unclear. Here, we analyzed integrated multi-omics profiling including copy number variation (CNV), DNA methylation and gene expression of 8 NFPAs.

Methods: We collected 4 highly proliferative (hpNFPA, Ki-67 ≥ 3) and 4 lowly proliferative (Ki-67 ≤ 1) NFPAs, and comprehensively assessed CNV, DNA methylation, and gene expression by Illumina HumanMethylation450 BeadChip and Affymetrix GeneChip PrimeView Human Gene Expression Array.

[Clinical Significance of Serum Free Light Chain and Its κ/λ Ratio in Patients with Multiple Myeloma].

Objective: To analyze the clinical significance of serum free light chain (sFLC) and sFLC-κ/λ ratio in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM), so as to provide the theoretical basis for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of MM patients.

Methods: A total of 43 patients newly diagnosed as MM in our hospital and 40 cases of other diseases that could cause sFLC increase were selcted. The clinical features of newly diagnosed MM patients were analyzed.

[Diagnosis and Treatment of Pituitary Carcinoma].

The early diagnosis and treatment of pituitary carcinoma is difficult. The diagnosis is often delayed, and the confirmation of a diagnosis requires the presence of distant subarachnoid,brain or systemic metastasis from the primary pituitary tumor in the sella and also needs the evidences of pathology and imaging of the primary pituitary carcinoma and metastases. Previous studies suggested that neurotrophins play a role in the diabetic retinopathy (DR). We therefore evaluated the role of plasma brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in Chinese type 2 diabetic patients with and without diabetic retinopathy (DR). Meta-analysis of high doses of ambroxol treatment for acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome based on randomized controlled trials.

This study seeks to evaluate the potential benefits of high doses of ambroxol treatment for acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) by conducting a meta-analysis based on randomized controlled trials (RCTs). We searched the Pubmed, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang databases through December 2013. Only RCTs evaluating high doses of ambroxol (≥15 mg/kg or 1000 mg/day) treatment for patients with ALI/ARDS were selected.

[A correlation of pulse pressure and prognosis of refractory septic shock patients].

Methods: A total of 68 patients with refractory septic shock consecutively admitted in our ICU from January 2012 to December 2012 were retrospectively studied. Hemodynamic data and arterial lactate concentration were collected at the time of admission and 24 hours after admission.

[65-month testosterone replacement therapy for androgen deficiency-induced ED: a case report and review of the literature].

Objective: To explore the mechanism of erectile dysfunction (ED) with testosterone deficiency and discuss the feasibility of long-term testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) by observing a case of ED with testosterone deficiency treated by TRT for 65 months.

Methods: We treated an ED patient with testosterone deficiency by TST for 65 months, and evaluated the therapeutic effects by analyzing his IIEF-5 score, dynamic changes in testosterone, PSA, hemoglobin and red blood cell count, and adverse events.

[Arsenic trioxide induces the apoptosis of prostate cancer PC-3 cells via the P38 signaling pathway].

Objective: To explore the role of the P38 signaling pathway in the apoptosis of arsenic trioxide (As2 O3)-induced androgen-independent prostate cancer PC-3 cells.

Methods: Androgen-independent prostate cancer PC-3 cells were treated with different concentrations of As2 O3 for 24, 48 and 72 hours. Expression of Sox2 and Oct4 and their clinical significance in human non-small-cell lung cancer.

Sox2 and Oct4 are transcription factors with the characteristics of regulating self-renewal and differentiation of embryonic stem cell. The aim of this study was to detect the expression of Sox2 and Oct4 and analyze their clinical significance in human non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Expression of Sox2 and Oct4 were assayed in cancer tissues and their corresponding paracancerous tissues from 44 patients with NSCLC and 21 patients with benign tumors using immunohistochemistry, Western blot, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
