The versatility of multicolor imaging of human tissues based on staining with perylene monoimide-mannose conjugates PMI-Man and co-staining with PMI-Man and eosin (P&E) was investigated for human cancer and normal tissues. Staining with PMI-Man or co-staining with PMI-Man and eosin showed a perfect histological morphology both in confocal fluorescence microscopy and light microscopy. This approach provided a universal colorful staining method for cancer tissues and normal tissues.

Purpose: This study aimed to describe the levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), D-dimer (D-D), and fibrinogen (FIB) in different types of diabetic retinopathy (DR).
Methods: A total of 61 patients with diabetes, who were treated in our department between November 2017 and May 2019, were selected. According to their non-mydriatic fundus photography and fundus angiography results, patients were divided into three groups, ie, the non-DR (NDR) group (n=23), the non-proliferative DR (NPDR) group (n=17), and the proliferative DR (PDR) group (n=21).

Focusing on the requirements of visual traceability for reprocessing of reused medical devices under the background of deep integration of intelligent medical treatment, a quality and safety traceability system for disinfection of reused medical devices is developed. The multi-dimensional data of the reprocessing chain of reusable medical devices are acquired in real time by the RFID mobile terminal handset and stored temporarily. The data package is formatted based on LoRa protocol and uploaded to the management and control platform in multi-threaded transmission mode for in-depth analysis and traceability.

A mannose-modified perylene monoimide derivative PMI-Man was developed, which shows highly selective binding to double-stranded DNA molecules, potent live/dead cell imaging, and histological imaging via both confocal and light microscopies. This approach can be used to develop a universal colorful staining method for human tissues for both confocal and light microscopies.

Objective: To discuss the clinical efficacy of phentolamine in the treatment of feeding intolerance in premature infants with low birth weight.
Methods: Seventy-one low-birth-weight infants with feeding intolerance were randomly divided into the phentolamine group and the erythromycin group (38 patients and 33 patients, respectively). The infants were given basic treatment, such as gastric lavage, temporary fasting, nutritional support and abdominal massage.

Histone H3K27 demethylase Jumonji domain-containing protein 3 (JMJD3) is involved in somatic cell differentiation and tumor progression; however, the underlying mechanisms of JMJD3 in cancer progression are yet to be fully explored. To improve understanding regarding the function of JMJD3 in brain tumor cells, the present study investigated the effects of JMJD3 on the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and migration in glioma cells, and the underlying mechanisms involving the C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 12 (CXCL12)/C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) axis. Immunohistochemical staining of a tissue microarray of glioma samples confirmed that JMJD3 overexpression could stratify highly metastatic glioma.

Background: Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy, ranking first in female reproductive malignancies with more than 500000 new cases and 275000 deaths each year. Traditionally, open radical hysterectomy is considered the standard surgical procedure for the treatment of resectable cervical cancer. The latest guidelines from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology suggest that open surgery and laparoscopic surgery (using traditional laparoscopic or robotic techniques) are the main surgical approaches for radical hysterectomy for patients with stage IA2-IIA cervical cancer.

MicroRNAs (miRs) have emerged as critical modulators of tumor initiation and progression in numerous types of human cancer, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), which is the most common subtype of renal cell carcinoma. Cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (CIP2A) is a newly characterized oncoprotein and its overexpression has been reported to promote cellular epithelial-mesenchymal transition and the tumor progression of ccRCC. Melatonin has anti-tumor activity via several mechanisms including its anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects as well as its potent pro-oxidant action in tumor cells.
