Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Chemotherapy is one of the main treatments for cancer, but the antitumor effect of chemotherapeutic drugs is affected by the patient's immune status. The programmed cell death 1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) axis is an important central checkpoint in tumor progression.

Ibrutinib might improve the efficacy of anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CD19 CAR) T-cell therapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). We studied the possibility and mechanism of the synergistic effect of ibrutinib and CAR-T cells in other types of lymphoma. In this study, we selected the CD19 CAR-T cells of a patient with lymphoma who failed in his CD19 CAR-T-cell therapy and a dose of 8 mg/kg/d ibrutinib.

To investigate the value of rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) of bronchoscopy in the diagnosis of pulmonary complications after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). A retrospective analysis was conducted on the diagnosis and treatment process before and after ROSE examination of 12 patients with pulmonary complications after allo-HSCT who were admitted to the Department of hematology, Tianjin First Central Hospital from January 2017 to June 2019. The diagnostic accuracy of the ROSE was evaluated by comparing the initial diagnosis of ROSE with the final clinical diagnosis.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells are emerging as a novel treatment for patients with refractory/relapsed B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL), and combination with PD1 inhibitors may further improve the efficacy of anti-CD19 CAR (CD19 CAR)-T cells in the treatment of lymphomas. In a single-center study, we evaluated the safety and efficacy of a combination therapy with CD19 CAR-T cells and an anti-PD-1 antibody (nivolumab) in patients with relapsed/refractory B-NHL. A total of 11 patients with refractory/relapsed B-NHL were recruited and subsequently received CD19 CAR-T cells and nivolumab.

Chemotherapy has been widely used for treatment to malignant cancer, such as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Chemotherapeutic effect was not often efficient to achieve totally tumor ablation due to the poor cellular uptake and drug resistance. To address these problems, a novel nanoplatform was constructed based on nontoxic mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) for a combined chemo/photothermal therapy to enhance tumor cell accumulation and promote toxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs.

Objective: To establish a MDS mouse model with iron overload and to study the effect of iron overload on MDS.
Methods: The exogenous mutant gene RUNX1-S291fs was inserted into the mice bone marrow mononuclear cell's genome in mice by retrovirus and transplanted into C57BL/6 mice irradiated by Co γ-ray. After 8 weeks, intraperitoneal injection of iron was performed to establish an MDS mouse model with iron overload.

Background: The age of onset of endometrial carcinoma has been decreasing in recent years. In endometrial carcinoma, it is important to accurately assess invasion depth and preoperative staging. Fusion of T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (T2WI) and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) may contribute to the improvement of anatomical localization of lesions.

Granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) plays a major role in the proliferation, differentiation, and activation of neutrophil cell line hematopoietic cells. G-CSF exert the function depending on its binding to colony-stimulating factor 3 receptor (CSF3R), a homo-dimer receptor located on the surface of effector cells. Some recent studies have demonstrated that CSF3R mutations play a significant role in many diseases.

Background: Exposure to a moderate to high dose of ionizing radiation (IR) not only causes acute radiation syndrome but also induces long-term (LT) bone marrow (BM) injury. The latter effect of IR is primarily attributed to the induction of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) senescence. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is the only treatment recommended to be given to radiation victims soon after IR.

Background: Current immunosuppressive regimens fail to avert chronic rejection (CR) of transplanted organs; however, selective targeting of actin-cytoskeletal regulators decreases T-cell motility and abrogates CR in rat model system. Administration of mutated class I major histocompatibility complex molecules or selective targeting of the RhoA pathway, which controls T-cell cytoskeletal activity, using Y27632 (a selective Rock1 inhibitor) resulted in reduced T-cell infiltration and abrogation of CR as judged from the neointimal index (13.9±19.

Objectives: Transfusional iron overload is of major concern in hematological disease. Iron-overload-related dyserythropoiesis and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-related damage to hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) function are major setbacks in treatment for such disorders. We therefore aim to investigate the effect of iron overload on hematopoiesis in the patients and explore the role of ROS in iron-induced oxidative damage in hematopoietic cells and microenvironment in vitro.

Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are somatic stem cells that can differentiate into progenies of multiple lineages. They play an important role in hematopoiesis and stem cell therapy due to their multi-lineage potentials and immunomodulatory properties. Oxidative stress is a disturbed redox state caused by accumulation of reactive oxygen species.

Objective: To observe whether the membrane attack complex C5b-9 would accumulate in the rats' liver after receiving the assault of traumatic hemorrhagic shock, and whether the membrane attack complex deals an impact on liver apoptosis.
Methods: Fifty male healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: normal group, 1, 3, 6, 24 hour model groups. The model of traumatic hemorrhagic shock was reproduced by withdrawal of blood from carotid artery after a bone fracture till the blood pressure lowered to 40 mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.
