Objects: Taurine exhibits protective effects in the context of cardiovascular pathophysiology. A range of evidence suggests that hypertension activates inflammatory responses and oxidative stress in the paraventricular nucleus (PVN), elevating the arterial tone and sympathetic activity, while it induces gut-brain axis dysfunction in the context of hypertension. However, the mechanism underlying taurine's anti-hypertensive effects via the gut-brain axis remains unclear.

Association between SOFA score and risk of acute kidney injury in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis: an analysis of the MIMIC-IV database.

Introduction: The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score is a widely utilized clinical tool for evaluating the severity of organ failure in critically ill patients and assessing their condition and prognosis in the intensive care unit (ICU). Research has demonstrated that higher SOFA scores are associated with poorer outcomes in these patients. However, the predictive value of the SOFA score for acute kidney injury (AKI), a common complication of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), remains uncertain.

Linea alba support method of prophylactic loop ileostomy via lower abdominal midline incision for rectal cancer: a retrospective cohort study.

Background: The traditional method of prophylactic loop ileostomy is time-consuming and prone to complications like stoma stenosis, peristomal adhesions, or dermatitis. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical application value and potential benefits of a novel approach named linea alba support method (LASM) of prophylactic loop ileostomy via lower abdominal midline incision.

Methods: The clinical data of rectal cancer patients admitted to the General Surgery Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University between January 2021 and December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.

The objective of current study was to evaluate the protective effect and underling mechanism of 6-OHG against hypoxia-induced injury via network pharmacology and cellular experiments. 6-OHG-related and hypoxia injury-related targets were screened by public databases.

Aim: The reconstruction methods after proximal gastrectomy (PG) are varied but not standardized. This study was performed to evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes between double tract reconstruction (DTR) and double flap technique (DFT).

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and collected data of patients who underwent DTR and DFT after laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy (LPG), respectively, between January 2020 and March 2023.

However, it is still unclear about whether thrombocytopenia increases the failure of EVT in cirrhotic patients with AVB.

Based on RNA-Seq and genome sequencing, Usp1413 was not only one of the most downregulated USPs, but also the bare one having mutation of tyrosine and glycine inserted at the site of 229-230 (YG229-230) under the stimulation of MEM.

Identification and resolution of drug-related problems in the cardiovascular surgery unit of a tertiary hospital in China: a retrospective study.

Objective: The prevalence and characteristics of drug-related problems (DRPs) in the cardiovascular surgery unit have not been adequately explored, leaving a gap in our understanding of this critical issue. This study aimed to address this gap by determining the prevalence, characteristics of DRPs and identifying factors associated with their occurrence.

Methods: We enrolled patients diagnosed with CKD concomitant with AMI, choosing five inflammatory markers related to both diseases.

The aim of this study is to utilize two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the potential causal relationship among psoriasis, iridocyclitis, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and to explore any potential mediation effects. Pooled data were derived from the public genome-wide association study (GWAS) in NAFLD (finn-b-NAFLD), iridocyclitis (finn-b-H7_IRIDOCYCLITIS) and psoriasis (finn-b-L12_PSORI_VULG). Univariable MR (UVMR) analysis was implemented to explore the causal relationship among psoriasis, iridocyclitis, and NAFLD, and inverse variance weighting (IVW) was used as the primary analytical method.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of combined aerosolized (AER) and intravenous (IV) polymyxin B in managing patients with hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) caused by carbapenem-resistant gram-negative organism (CRO).

Methods: This multicenter prospective cohort study was conducted across six intensive care units in municipal and above-municipal hospitals in Shaanxi, China, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. Patients with CRO pneumonia were categorized into the intravenous group (IV polymyxin B alone) and the combination group (AER plus IV polymyxin B).
