Novel prognostic nomograms for postoperative patients with oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma in the central region of China.

Background: Oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) is the most common pathological type in oral tumors. This study intends to construct a novel prognostic nomogram model based on China populations for these resectable OCSCC patients, and then validate these nomograms.

Methods: A total of 607 postoperative patients with OCSCC diagnosed between June 2012 and June 2018 were obtained from two tertiary medical institutions in Xinxiang and Zhengzhou.

Garsorasib in patients with KRAS-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer in China: an open-label, multicentre, single-arm, phase 2 trial.

Background: Garsorasib (D-1553; InventisBio, Shangai, China), a potent KRAS inhibitor, has shown promising antitumour activity in patients with KRAS-mutated (ie, Gly12Cys) non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in a phase 1 study. We report results from a phase 2 study conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of garsorasib in patients with locally advanced or metastatic KRAS-mutated NSCLC.

Methods: This open-label, multicentre, single-arm, phase 2 trial enrolled adult patients with KRAS-mutated NSCLC who had previously been treated with platinum-based chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors from 43 hospitals in China.

Targeting bacterial metabolites in tumor for cancer therapy: An alternative approach for targeting tumor-associated bacteria.

Emerging evidence reveal that tumor-associated bacteria (TAB) can facilitate the initiation and progression of multiple types of cancer. Recent work has emphasized the significant role of intestinal microbiota, particularly bacteria, plays in affecting responses to chemo- and immuno-therapies. Hence, it seems feasible to improve cancer treatment outcomes by targeting intestinal bacteria.

Background: While it is known that patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) are at an increased risk of complications following total hip arthroplasty (THA), there is a gap in the literature in comparing patients with ESRD to patients who undergo renal transplant (RT) before or after THA. Construction of an immune-related prognostic model and potential drugs screening for esophageal cancer based on bioinformatics analyses and network pharmacology.

Background: Esophageal cancer (ESCA) is a highly invasive malignant tumor with poor prognosis. This study aimed to discover a generalized and high-sensitivity immune prognostic signature that could stratify ESCA patients and predict their overall survival, and to discover potential therapeutic drugs by the connectivity map.

Methods: The key gene modules significantly related to clinical traits (survival time and state) of ESCA patients were selected by weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WCGNA), then the univariate and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression analyses were used to construct a 15-immune-related gene prognostic signature.

Methods: From December 14, 2018 to August 28, 2022, HRQoL was evaluated in all randomized patients using European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 items (QLQ-C30), EORTC Quality of Life Questionnaire Oesophageal Cancer Module 18 items (QLQ-OES18), and visual analogue scale (VAS) of the EuroQol five-dimensional five-level questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L).

Various chemical modifications of NAG have been made to promote its biomedical applications. In this study, we synthesized two bi-deoxygenated NAG, BNAG1 and BNAG2 and investigated their anti-inflammatory properties, using an in vivo and in vitro inflammation mouse model induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
