Background: This study aims to analyse changes in urinary kidney injury markers in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP), investigate the risk factors for MPP-related acute kidney injury (AKI) and establish a model to predict MPP-related AKI.
Methods: Ninety-five children were enrolled based on the study's inclusion and exclusion criteria. They were divided into a severe MPP (SMPP) group and a non-SMPP group and then into an AKI group and a non-AKI group according to the presence of AKI.

Background: To explore the efficacy of a prediction model based on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) features extracted from deep learning (DL) and radiomics combined with clinical parameters and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values to identify microsatellite instability (MSI) in endometrial cancer (EC).
Methods: This study included a cohort of 116 patients with EC, who were subsequently divided into training (n = 81) and test (n = 35) sets. From DWI, conventional radiomics features and convolutional neural network-based DL features were extracted.

Study Objectives: Observational studies suggest associations between insomnia and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), but the causal mechanism remains unclear. We investigated the potential causal associations between insomnia and CVDs by a combined systematic meta-review and meta-analysis of observational and Mendelian randomization studies.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase for English-language articles from inception to July 11, 2023.

Objective: NvZhen ErXian HeJi (NZEXHJ) is used to treat perimenopausal syndrome (PS), but its effect on perimenopausal coronary heart disease is unclear. Furthermore, the aim of this research is to study the effect of NZEXHJ on perimenopausal coronary heart disease (PMCHD) in a rat model based on a network pharmacology approach.
Materials And Methods: Based on network pharmacological analysis combined with molecular docking, we predicted the potential therapeutic target and pharmacological mechanism of NZEXHJ in the treatment of PMCHD.

Habitual daytime napping is a common behavioral and lifestyle practice in particular countries and is often considered part of a normal daily routine. However, recent evidence suggests that the health effects of habitual daytime napping are controversial. We systematically searched PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases from inception to March 9, 2024, to synthesize cohort studies of napping and health outcome risk.

Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a severe microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus that can lead to end-stage renal disease. Colquhounia root tablet (CRT) has shown therapeutic potential in treating DKD, but its efficacy and underlying mechanisms remain to be elucidated.
Methods: A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted on 61 DKD patients.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of mortality in humans, and oxidative stress plays a pivotal role in disease progression. This phenomenon typically arises from weakening of the cellular antioxidant system or excessive accumulation of peroxides. This review focuses on a specialized form of oxidative stress-disulfide stress-which is triggered by an imbalance in the glutaredoxin and thioredoxin antioxidant systems within the cell, leading to the accumulation of disulfide bonds.

Transcriptional heterogeneity of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) has been investigated in individual cancers, but the extent to which these states transcend tumor types and represent a general feature of cancer remains unclear. We performed pan-cancer single-cell RNA sequencing analysis across nine cancer types and identified distinct monocyte/TAM composition patterns. Using spatial analysis from clinical study tissues, we assessed TAM functions in shaping the tumor microenvironment (TME) and influencing immunotherapy.

Background: With the advent of an ageing era, the number of elderly patients undergoing knee joint replacement is increasing. Postoperative long-term standardized functional exercise is a focal point and difficulty in the recovery of joint function for patients after knee replacement. Virtual reality (VR) is increasingly considered a potentially effective option that can provide patients with a relaxed and enjoyable exercise method.

Unlabelled: Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) is a common respiratory tract infection disease in children. To date, there have been few studies on the relationship between cytological changes in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and clinical features. The objective of this study is to investigate the correlation between changes in the proportion of cell classifications in BALF and the clinical features in children with severe MPP (SMPP).

Background: Gout is the most prevalent form of inflammatory arthritis in the world. Total hip arthroplasty (THA) has emerged as a widely sought-after and highly effective surgical procedure for advanced hip diseases. However, there is a lack of research on the impact of gout on primary THA outcomes in large cohorts.

The horizontal part of the third segment (V3) of the vertebral artery (VA) is a critical anastomotic site for bypass procedures involving either donor or recipient vessels. It is rare for the V3 segment to deviate from its typical course of passing through the atlanto-transverse foramen. V3 anomaly encountered in occipital artery (OA)-V3 bypass surgery has not been previously reported.

Background: Oxidative stress is a well-known pathological factor driving neuronal loss and age-related neurodegenerative diseases. Melatonin, coenzyme Q10 and lecithin are three common nutrients with an antioxidative capacity. Here, we examined the effectiveness of them administrated individually and in combination in protecting against oxidative stress-induced neuronal death in vitro, and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and associated deficits in vivo.

Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) can seriously affect graft survival and prognosis and is an unavoidable event during liver transplantation. Ferroptosis is a novel iron-dependent form of cell death characterized by iron accumulation and overwhelming lipid peroxidation; it differs morphologically, genetically, and biochemically from other well-known cell death types (autophagy, necrosis, and apoptosis). Accumulating evidence has shown that ferroptosis is involved in the pathogenesis of hepatic IRI, and targeting ferroptosis may be a promising therapeutic approach.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to determine the relationships among perceived social support, mindful self-care, and resilience in a sample of nurses in three provinces of China.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in seven hospitals in Guangdong, Guizhou, and Henan provinces between August and October, 2023; the provinces are located in south, southwest, and central China. A total of 389 nurses were surveyed using a self-designed sociodemographic characteristics questionnaire and the Chinese versions of Multidimensional Scale of the Perceived Social Support, Brief-Mindful Self-Care Scale and the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10).

Dysregulation of cholesterol homeostasis occurs in multiple types of tumors and promotes cancer progression. Investigating the specific processes that induce abnormal cholesterol metabolism could identify therapeutic targets to improve cancer treatment. In this investigation, we observed upregulation of 7-dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR7), a vital enzyme involved in the synthesis of cholesterol, within bladder cancer tissues in comparison to normal tissues, which was correlated with increased bladder cancer metastasis.
