Methods: Information from 713 oral cancer patients was collected using questionnaire surveys. One-way ANOVA or t-tests were employed to compare differences in discharge readiness across various demographic characteristics.

IINS Vs CALLY Index: A Battle of Prognostic Value in NSCLC Patients Following Surgery.

Objective: This research sought to assess the predictive potential of the inflammation-immunity-nutrition score (IINS) and the high-sensitivity C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index in individuals with NSCLC post-surgery.

Methods: The study enrolled 506 patients with NSCLC undergoing R0 resection at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. The training cohort was analyzed utilizing X-tile software to identify the ideal threshold values for categorizing high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, albumin, lymphocyte count, and the CALLY index.

Exploring the influence of living arrangements on mental health among adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study in China.

Background: Although scholars have extensively explored the impact of parents on the mental health of children and adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of living arrangements has not received sufficient attention. Furthermore, the previous studies do not investigate whether living with a father or a mother has differing impacts on the mental health of adolescents, nor does it explore potential differences between biological parents and step-parents in this regard.

Subjects/methods: This multi-center study included newly diagnosed NHL patients. Nutritional status and chemotherapy-related toxic effects were assessed over the first five chemotherapy sessions, with follow-ups conducted every 3 months.

Quantifying Tumor Budding: Implications for Prognosis in Gastric Adenocarcinoma.

The mechanism of tumor budding (TB) in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) and its relationship with biological indicators and prognostic significance, remains unclear. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive analysis using whole-slide imaging to evaluate TB in 75 cases of GAC. Our findings revealed the risk factors associated with TB in GAC and their impact on patient prognosis.

Validation Status of Electronic Sphygmomanometers in China: A National Survey.

Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.

Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Association of geriatric nutritional risk index with renal prognosis and all-cause mortality among older patients with chronic kidney disease: a secondary analysis of CKD-ROUTE study.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the association between the geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) and incidence of CKD progression, all-cause mortality, and cardiovascular events in the elderly patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) before dialysis initiation.

Methods: We performed a post hoc analysis of the CKD-ROUTE database, which included 538 pre-dialysis CKD patients aged ≥65 years in this prospective cohort study. Associations between GNRI and clinical outcomes were estimated using Cox proportional hazards model analysis.

Minimally invasive versus open surgery for nonfunctioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Nonfunctioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PNETs) have been diagnosed increasingly often but still represent rare pancreatic neoplasms. Here, we found that the sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP1) expression is gradually upregulated during the initiation of pancreatic cancer. Through in vitro 3D culture of pancreatic acinar cells and experiments in LSL-Kras;Pdx1-Cre (KC) mice, we found that pharmacological inhibition of SREBP1 suppressed pancreatic tumorigenesis.

Lipid droplets (LDs), serving as the convergence point of energy metabolism and multiple signaling pathways, have garnered increasing attention in recent years. Different cell types within the central nervous system (CNS) can regulate energy metabolism to generate or degrade LDs in response to diverse pathological stimuli. This article provides a comprehensive review on the composition of LDs in CNS, their generation and degradation processes, their interaction mechanisms with mitochondria, the distribution among different cell types, and the roles played by these cells-particularly microglia and astrocytes-in various prevalent neurological disorders.

The feasibility and short-term safety of single-site hysterectomy: a retrospective cohort study of a novel robotic platform.

Methods: This study analyzed data from routine occupational health examinations conducted at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2019. TyG and TyG-BMI, indicators of insulin resistance (IR), were calculated using triglyceride (TG), fasting blood glucose (FPG), and body mass index (BMI).

RET-AREAL: a multi-center, real-world data analysis on the efficacy of pralsetinib in acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs.

Pralsetinib demonstrated impressive improvement of survival in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients harbored de novo RET fusion. However, the efficacy in patients with acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs has only been reported on a case-by-case basis, and the strategy for overcoming the acquired RET fusion has not been fully investigated.
