Background: Acute aortic dissection is a lethal cardiovascular emergency; early diagnosis is critically necessary. Novel serum biomarkers can potentially help in early detection and estimation of postoperative outcomes. Yes-associated protein (YAP) is a critical effector of the Hippo pathway, our aim was to explore the association between YAP and the diagnosis and prognosis of AD.

Direct electrochemical detection of miRNA biomarkers in tumor tissue interstitial fluid (TIF) holds great promise for adjuvant therapy for tumors in the perioperative period, yet is limited by background interference and weak signal. Herein, a wash-free and separation-free miRNA biosensor based on photoexcited electro-driven reactive oxygen channeling analysis (LEOCA) is developed to solve the high-fidelity detection in physiological samples. In the presence of miRNA, nanoacceptors (ultrasmall-size polydopamine, uPDA) are responsively assembled on the surface of nanodonors (zirconium metal-organic framework, ZrMOF) to form core-satellite aggregates.

Background: Inflammatory diseases impair the reparative properties of endothelial progenitor cells (EPC); however, the involvement of diabetes in EPC dysfunction associated with myocardial infarction (MI) remains unknown.
Methods: A model was established combining high-fat diet (HFD)/streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice with myocardial infarction. The therapeutic effects of transplanted wild-type EPC, Nlrp3 knockout EPC, and Nlrp3 overexpression EPC were evaluated.

Purpose: The combination therapy of lenvatinib and immunotherapy as first-line treatment remains controversial in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC). This research aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of lenvatinib monotherapy (L) and combination therapy of lenvatinib and immune checkpoint inhibitor (LI) in lenvatinib-insensitive patients with uHCC.
Methods: Two hundred fifty-five uHCC patients were enrolled in this study.

Background And Objectives: Vanishing white matter disease (VWMD) is an autosomal recessive leukoencephalopathy caused by mutations in the EIF2B1-5 genes, typically rare in adulthood. We present a case of adult-onset VWMD with a novel EIF2B2 mutation.
Methods: We collected the patient's clinical data, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) results, laboratory tests, imaging features, genetic analysis, and follow-up data over a 4-year period.

Glecirasib (JAB-21822) is a new covalent oral KRAS-G12C inhibitor. This multicenter, single-arm phase 2b study assessed the efficacy and safety of glecirasib administered orally at 800 mg daily in patients with locally advanced or metastatic KRAS-mutated nonsmall-cell lung cancer. The primary endpoint was the objective response rate (ORR) assessed by an independent review committee (IRC).

Pulpotomy, which belongs to vital pulp therapy, has become a strategy for managing pulpitis in recent decades. This minimally invasive treatment reflects the recognition of preserving healthy dental pulp and optimizing long-term patient-centered outcomes. Pulpotomy is categorized into partial pulpotomy (PP), the removal of a partial segment of the coronal pulp tissue, and full pulpotomy (FP), the removal of whole coronal pulp, which is followed by applying the biomaterials onto the remaining pulp tissue and ultimately restoring the tooth.

Introduction: For patients with breast cancer receiving preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy with anthracyclines, there is an increased risk of postoperative myocardial injury due to the cardiotoxicity of the chemotherapeutic agents. The optimal intraoperative blood pressure regulation regimen for these patients is unclear. This study is being conducted to determine whether targeting mean arterial pressure (MAP) to 100%-120% of the patient's baseline blood pressure reduces the incidence of myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) compared with targeting MAP to 80%-100%.

Diabetes is an extremely costly disease, one-third of which are attributed to the management of diabetic foot disease including chronic, non-healing, diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). Therefore, much effort is needed to understand the pathogenesis of DFUs and novel therapeutics. We utilized exosome staining to confirm the interaction between fibroblast-derived exosomes and macrophages.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is highly prone to early relapse and metastasis following standard treatment. CXCL8 is a key factor in tumor invasion and metastasis, but its role in TNBC prognosis and clinicopathological correlations remains poorly understood. This study investigated CXCL8 expression and its clinical significance in TNBC to develop a prognostic nomogram for guiding intensive treatment and follow-up strategies.

Hepatic insulin clearance is essential for maintaining glucose homeostasis and is closely linked to metabolic disorders such as obesity, insulin resistance, and diabetes. Accurate measurement of insulin clearance is vital for understanding the underlying mechanisms of these conditions. This protocol presents a straightforward and user-friendly hepatic perfusion procedure in mice, specifically designed to directly evaluate the hepatic insulin clearance rate.

Bone defect repair remains a great challenge in the field of orthopedics. Human body essential trace element such as copper is essential for bone regeneration, but how to use it in bone defects and the underlying its mechanisms of promoting bone formation need to be further explored. In this study, by doping copper into mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (Cu-MBGNs), we unveil a previously unidentified role of copper in facilitating osteoblast mitophagy and mitochondrial dynamics, which enhance amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) release and subsequent biomineralization, ultimately accelerating the process of bone regeneration.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a neurological condition that causes significant loss of sensory, motor, and autonomic functions below the level of injury. Current clinical treatment strategies often fail to meet expectations. Hyaluronidase is typically associated with tumor progression and bacterial infections.

Cholesterol aggregation in dendritic cells (DCs) triggers an inflammatory response and accelerates the development of atherosclerosis (AS). Resveratrol (RES), a natural compound with anti-inflammatory and cholesterol metabolism regulatory properties, has been shown to influence the maturation and inflammatory functions of DCs. However, its relationship with cholesterol metabolism remains unclear.

Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is the most common malignant tumor of the hematological system in children, and its relapse after treatment has consistently been a significant factor hindering prognosis. This study aimed to develop a blood-based non-invasive method for predicting relapse in children with ALL. Two cohorts of pediatric ALL patients were analyzed.

Background & Aims: Current prognostic models for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) are not extensively validated and widely accepted. We aimed to develop and validate a continuous model incorporating tumor burden and biology for individual survival prediction and risk stratification.
Methods: Overall, 4,377 treatment-naive candidates for whom TACE was recommended, from 39 centers in five countries, were enrolled and divided into training, internal validation, and two external validation datasets.

As the population ages, the prevalence of age-related frailty increases sharply, which increases the risk of poor health status of older adults, such as disability, falls, hospitalization, and death. Across the globe, frailty is moving toward the forefront of health and medical research. Currently, frailty is believed to be preventable and reversible, so the early identification of frailty is critical.

The overactivation of transposable elements (TEs) is a significant threat to male reproduction, particularly during the delicate process of spermatogenesis. Here, we report that zinc finger protein ZCCHC8-a key component of the nuclear exosome targeting (NEXT) complex that is involved in ribonucleic acid (RNA) surveillance-is required for TE silencing during spermatogenesis. Loss of ZCCHC8 results in delayed meiotic progression and reduced production of round spermatids (RS).
