Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI) is the damage to lung tissue caused by radiation. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and fibrogenesis in radiated lung epithelial cells play critical roles in RILI. Tripartite motif-containing (TRIM) family proteins have been shown to be involved in fibrotic diseases, but whether TRIM22 plays a role in RILI and relative underlying mechanism remain unexplored.

It remains a huge challenge to realize a high-throughput direct detection for pathogenic bacteria with high-sensitivity in practice. Here, we develop a typical two-dimensional (2D) composite semiconductor of BP@MoS with special synergistic chemical enhancement-mediated surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity. The relative proportion of MoS and BP was rationally adjusted in the hydrothermal reaction to screen a composite sample with high charge transfer efficiency.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of A1 pulley reconstruction in treating severe trigger fingers and to compare its outcomes with those of the traditional A1 pulley release technique. A total of 43 patients participated in the study, divided into two groups: 22 patients underwent A1 pulley reconstruction, while the remaining 21 patients received the standard A1 pulley release procedure. The outcomes were assessed using the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire (MHQ) 1 month post-surgery.

Background: Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), essential for the anti-tumor response, are now recognized as promising and cost-effective biomarkers with both prognostic and predictive value. They are crucial in the precision treatment of breast cancer, particularly for predicting clinical outcomes and identifying candidates for immunotherapy. This study aims to encapsulate the current knowledge of TILs in breast cancer research while evaluating research trends both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) is the main cause of infection-related mortality and the most common infectious disease that develops resistance to antibiotics. Gut microbiota and their associated metabolites are assumed to induce and influence the development of PTB. However, the alterations of gut microbiota and metabolites in TB patients is currently unclear.

Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by relapsing inflammation of the colon. Tanshinone IIA, a compound derived from traditional Chinese medicine, has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties and may enhance treatment outcomes when combined with mesalazine. This study aims to determine the overall response rate of Tanshinone IIA in combination with mesalazine for the treatment of UC.

In the context of our previous analyses on the main active ingredients of Jieyudan, a classic formula targeting aphasia in stroke, we further delve into the function and mechanisms of its active ingredient, Diosmin (DM), which may exert neuroprotective effects, in ischemic stroke. Herein, bioinformatics analysis revealed targets of DM and their intersection with differentially expressed genes in ischemic stroke. Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rats and oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) cells were used to construct in vivo and in vitro models of ischemic stroke.

Background: The anatomical location for lateral ligament reconstruction remains a significant challenge. With the development of arthroscopic technology, arthroscopic-assisted lateral ligament reconstruction can significantly facilitate the correct localization of anatomical points. However, there is limited evidence on the clinical efficacy of arthroscopic ligament reconstruction compared with percutaneous ligament reconstruction.

The locomotive action involves diverse coordination, necessitating the integration of multiple motor neural circuits. However, the precise circuitry mechanism governing emotion-driven accelerated locomotion remains predominantly elusive. Here we dissect projections from the tuberomammillary nucleus (TMN) to subiculum (SUB) which promote alert-driven accelerated locomotion.

Context: Our clinical observation found that JiJiaoLiHuang Pill (JJLH), a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation, can significantly reduce the abdominal circumference of patients with malignant ascites, increase urine output, and improve the quality of life of patients, with preliminary efficacy. But, the exact mechanism is not yet clear.
Objective: Based on the above observations, the potential mechanism of action of the treatment was preliminarily explored.

Objective: In 2007, entosis was proposed as a form of programmed cell death, distinct from apoptosis. This process involves a living cell (internalized cell) actively invading a neighboring live cell of the same type (host cell), forming a cell-in-cell structure. Recently, entosis has been increasingly associated with cancer, leading to significant advancements in research.

Sick sinus syndrome (SSS) is a grave medical condition that can precipitate sudden death. The pathogenesis of SSS remains incompletely understood. Existing research postulates that the fundamental mechanism involves increased fibrosis of the sinoatrial node and its surrounding tissues, as well as disturbances in the coupled-clock system, comprising the membrane clock and the Ca clock.

The present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH). We first applied the Morris water maze approach to determine the effects of EA and TGN-020 [an inhibitor of aquaporin 4 (AQP4)] on the learning and memory ability of CCH rats. The hematoxylin and eosin, and Nissl staining were further used to investigate the effects of EA and TGN-020 on the neuropathological changes of the dentate gyrus.
