Background: Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are life-threatening cutaneous reactions often triggered by medications. While the involvement of CD8 T cells causing keratinocyte death is well recognized, the contribution of neural elements to the persistent skin inflammation has been largely overlooked.
Objective: We investigated the potential neuroimmune regulation in SJS/TEN.

Introduction: The presence of hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) in neonates triggers a strong neuroinflammatory reaction. Pyroptosis, a programmed cell death mechanism associated with inflammation, plays a crucial role in HIBD. Pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) plays a significant role in connecting metabolic processes and inflammatory responses, but whether it affects hippocampus pyroptosis in HIBD is unclear.

Postpartum elevation of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in mothers with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) presents a significant clinical challenge. However, the existing literature demonstrates inconsistencies regarding its incidence and predictors in mothers infected with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Recent advancements in antiviral prophylaxis against mother-to-child transmission of HBV and postpartum cessation of antiviral therapy further complicate this issue.

Background: Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) resistance is closely associated with altered AR status. Aberrant AR expression is critical for the induction of ADT resistance, necessitating the identification of an anti-PCa target independent of AR expression.
Methods: Transcriptomic data and clinical information of PRAD were obtained from TCGA database.

Lung adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are the two most common pathological lung cancer subtypes. Accurate diagnosis and pathological subtyping are crucial for lung cancer treatment. Solitary solid lung nodules with lobulation and spiculation signs are often indicative of lung cancer; however, in some cases, postoperative pathology finds benign solid lung nodules.

Background: In recent years, e-cigarettes have been used as alternatives among adult smokers. However, the impact of e-cigarette use on human bronchial epithelial (HBE) cells remains controversial.
Methods: We collected primary HBE cells of healthy nonsmokers and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) smokers, and analyzed the impact of e- cigarette vapor extract (ECE) or cigarette smoke extract (CSE) on HBE cell differentiation and injury by single-cell RNA sequencing, immunostaining, HE staining, qPCR and ELISA.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the association between preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and febrile urinary tract infection (fUTI) in patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
Patients And Methods: The clinical data of patients who underwent PCNL at our hospital between March 2020 and May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. According to whether fUTI occurs after operation, collected data were divided to the patients into fUTI and non-fUTI.

Background: Sepsis remains a major health condition with a high mortality rate that may be related to immunosuppression. T lymphocyte subsets may reflect the immune function of sepsis patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictive value of CD4 T lymphocyte counts of ICU patients for their short-term prognosis.

Receptor interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1) has emerged as a key regulatory molecule that influences the balance between cell death and cell survival. Under external stress, RIPK1 determines whether a cell undergoes RIPK-dependent apoptosis (RDA) or survives by activating NF-κB signaling. However, the role and mechanisms of RIPK1 on sunitinib sensitivity in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remain elusive.

Endogenous retroviruses (ERVs), once thought to be mere remnants of ancient viral integrations in the mammalian genome, are now recognized for their critical roles in various physiological processes, including embryonic development, innate immunity, and tumorigenesis. Their impact on host organisms is significant driver of evolutionary changes, offering insight into evolutionary mechanisms. In our study, we explored the functionality of ERVs by examining single-cell transcriptomic profiles from human embryonic stem cells and urine cells.

Background: The global incidence of pulmonary fungal diseases is on the rise. Individuals harboring underlying immunocompromised conditions such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), malignant tumors, or those who have undergone organ transplantation, among others, are particularly susceptible to fungal infections. However, in clinical practice, certain patients diagnosed with pulmonary fungal infections exhibit no discernible risk factors for immunosuppression.
