Acquired resistance to first-line chemotherapeutics, including paclitaxel (PTX), is a primary factor contributing to chemotherapy failure in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Previous studies have identified that targeting NEDD8-activating enzyme (NAE) with MLN4924 effectively overcomes platinum resistance in preclinical models of ovarian cancer. However, the underlying mechanisms are yet to be fully elucidated.

Association between CD14 gene promoter polymorphisms with serum total-IgE and eosinophil levels in atopic and non-atopic asthma patients in a Chinese Han population.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between CD14 gene promoter SNPs with serum total-IgE and eosinophil levels in atopic asthma and non-atopic asthma in Chinese Han.

Methods: A total of 152 patients with asthma were divided into atopic asthma (n = 100) and non-atopic asthma (n = 52) groups for this study. Six CD14 gene SNPs were analyzed using PCR and gene sequencing.

Upregulation of salivary α2 macroglobulin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

We investigated the expression of salivary α2-macroglobulin (α2-MG) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) to investigate its value for predicting damage to the salivary glands. A total of 116 patients with T2DM and 60 patients with impaired fasting glucose (IFG) were included in this study. Sixty health volunteers were enrolled as a control group.
