Due to the rapid development of RNA sequencing techniques, a circular non-coding RNA (ncRNA) known as circular RNAs (circRNAs) has gradually come into focus. As a distinguished member of the circRNA family, circ_0003945 has garnered attention for its aberrant expression and biochemical functions in human diseases. Subsequent studies have revealed that circ_0003945 could regulate tumor cells proliferation, migration, invasion, apoptosis, autophagy, angiogenesis, drug resistance, and radio resistance through the molecular mechanism of competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) during tumorigenesis.

Background: Post-thrombectomy intraparenchymal hyperdensity (PTIH) in patients with acute anterior circulation large vessel occlusion is a common CT sign associated with a higher incidence of futile reperfusion (FR). We aimed to develop a nomogram to predict FR specifically in patients with PTIH.
Methods: We retrospectively collected information on patients with acute ischemic stroke who underwent endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) at two stroke centers.

Purpose: A series of new Ga-labeled tracers based on [Ga]Ga-PSMA-617 were developed to augment the tumor-to-kidney ratio and reduce the activity accumulation in bladder, ultimately minimize radiation toxicity to the urinary system.
Methods: We introduced quinoline group, phenylalanine and decanoic acid into different tracers to enhance their lipophilicity, strategically limiting their metabolic pathway through the urinary system. Their binding affinity onto LNCaP cells was determined through in vitro saturation assays and competition binding assays.

Purpose: The Centiloid project helps calibrate the quantitative amyloid-β (Aβ) load into a unified Centiloid (CL) scale that allows data comparison across multi-site. How the smaller regional amyloid converted into CL has not been attempted. We first aimed to express regional Aβ deposition in CL using Flutemetamol and evaluate regional Aβ deposition in CL with that in standardized uptake value ratio (SUVr).

Studies have shown that adoptive transfer of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) can alleviate various inflammatory diseases, including glomerulonephritis, but the long-term effects of the transferred MDSCs are still unclear. In addition, although glucocorticoids exert immunosuppressive effects on inflammatory diseases by inducing the expansion of MDSCs, the impact of glucocorticoids on the immunosuppressive function of MDSCs and their molecular mechanisms are unclear. In this study, we found that adoptive transfer of MDSCs to doxorubicin-induced focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) mice for eight consecutive weeks led to an increase in serum creatinine and proteinuria and aggravation of renal interstitial fibrosis.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) refers to a group of chronic diseases with global prevalence, characterized by persistent hyperglycemia resulting from various etiologies. DM can harm various organ systems and lead to acute or chronic complications, which severely endanger human well-being. Traditional treatment mainly involves controlling blood sugar levels through replacement therapy with drugs and insulin; however, some patients still find a satisfactory curative effect difficult to achieve.

Purpose: This study aims to explore a novel scaffold for osteotendinous junction regeneration and to preliminarily verify its osteogenic and tenogenic abilities in vitro.
Methods: A polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffold with aligned and orthogonal fibers was created using melt electrowriting (MEW) and fused deposition modeling (FDM). The scaffold was coated with Type I collagen, and hydroxyapatite was carefully added to separate the regions intended for bone and tendon regeneration, before being rolled into a cylindrical shape.

Purpose: To explore the feasibility of predicting the pathological activity of Crohn's disease (CD) based on dual-energy CT enterography (DECTE).
Methods: The clinical, endoscopic, imaging and pathological data of 55 patients with CD scanned by DECTE were retrospectively analyzed; the pathological results were used as a reference standard to classify the diseased bowel segments into active and inactive phases. The normalized iodine concentration (NIC), energy-spectrum curve slope K, dual energy index (DEI), fat fraction (FF) of the arterial phases and venous phases were compared.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical features, pathological characteristics, and prognosis in myeloperoxidase (MPO)-antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)-associated glomerulonephritis (AAGN) with renal arteritis. The study involved 97 children from five pediatric clinical centers with MPO-AAGN who exhibited distinct clinical features. The patients were divided into AAGN-A+ and AAGN-A-, based on the presence or absence of arteritis, and the disparities in clinical, histopathological characteristics, and prognosis between the two groups was evaluated.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) triggers severe neuroinflammation and cognitive impairment, where microglial M1 polarization exacerbates the injury and M2 polarization mitigates damage. Mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs), carrying microRNA (miR)-140-5p, offer therapeutic promise by targeting the cAMP/PKA/CREB pathway and modulating microglial responses, demonstrating a novel approach for addressing SAH-induced brain injury. This research explored the role of miR-140-5p delivered by MSC-EVs in mitigating brain damage following SAH.

Background: Genetic knockout-based studies conducted in mice provide a powerful means of assessing the significance of a gene for fertility. Forkhead-associated phosphopeptide binding domain 1 (FHAD1) contains a conserved FHA domain, that is present in many proteins with phospho-threonine reader activity. How FHAD1 functions in male fertility, however, remains uncertain.

Cysteine and serine-rich nuclear protein 1 (CSRNP1) has shown prognostic significance in various cancers, but its role in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains elusive. We investigated CSRNP1 expression in NSCLC cases using bioinformatics tools from the GEO public repository and validated our findings through RT-qPCR in tumor and adjacent normal tissues. KEGG and GO enrichment analyses were employed to unveil the significant deregulation in signaling pathways.

While Phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate-induced protein 1 (Noxa/PMAIP1) assumes a pivotal role in numerous tumors, its clinical implications and underlying mechanisms of gastric cancer (GC) are yet enigmatic. In this investigation, our primary objective was to scrutinize the clinical relevance and potential mechanisms of Noxa in gastric cancer. Immunohistochemical analysis was conducted on tissue microarrays comprising samples from a meticulously characterized cohort of 84 gastric cancer patients, accompanied by follow-up data, to assess the expression of Noxa.

Various forms of malignancies have been linked to Helicobacter pylori. Despite advancements in chemotherapeutic and surgical approaches, the management of cancer, particularly at advanced stages, increasingly relies on the integration of immunotherapy. As a novel, safe therapeutic modality, immunotherapy harnesses the immune system of the patient to treat cancer, thereby broadening treatment options.

Adult lung resident stem/progenitor cells, including P63 progenitor cells, have demonstrated the capacity for regeneration of lung epithelium in preclinical models. Here, we report a clinical trial of intrapulmonary P63 progenitor cell transplantation in 28 participants with stage II to IV chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Autologous P63 progenitor cells were isolated from the airway basal layer of participants in the intervention group via bronchoscopic brushing, cultured for 3 to 5 weeks, and then transplanted back into the lungs via bronchoscopy at 0.
