Introduction: The Oxidative Balance Score (OBS) represents an integrated measure of oxidative-reductive homeostasis. Despite the established role of oxidative stress in the development of post-stroke depression (PSD), the association between OBS and PSD in the general population remains unclear. This study aims to explore this relationship using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning 2005-2018.

Background: According to statistics, colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) ranks third in global incidence and second in mortality. The role of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification-dependent ferroptosis in tumor development and progression is gaining attention. Therefore, it is meaningful to explore the biological functions mediated by m6A ferroptosis related genes (m6A-Ferr-RGs) in the prognosis and treatment of COAD.

Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a pyretic ailment predominantly observed in children aged below 5 years. There is currently a dearth of precise markers for timely identification of incomplete Kawasaki disease (IKD). It is imperative to develop updated, comprehensive, and evidence-based guidelines to effectively direct clinical practice.

Purpose: It is reported that insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) increase the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events. The aim of this study was to analyze the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in elderly patients with comorbid insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea (COMISA).
Methods: We included 868 elderly patients with OSA who underwent sleep monitoring at a multicenter sleep room from January 2015 to October 2017.

Exosomes, as a class of small extracellular vesicles closely related to the biological behavior of various types of tumors, are currently attracting research attention in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Regarding cancer diagnosis, the stability of their membrane structure and their wide distribution in body fluids render exosomes promising biomarkers. It is expected that exosome-based liquid biopsy will become an important tool for tumor diagnosis in the future.

Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women worldwide, posing a significant threat to female health. Therefore, it is crucial to search for new therapeutic targets and prognostic biomarkers for breast cancer patients. Bioinformatics analysis, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) were employed to investigate the expression of hsa_circ_002144 in breast cancer.

Background: With cardiovascular diseases standing as a leading cause of mortality worldwide, the interplay between diet-induced inflammation, as quantified by the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII), and heart failure biomarker NT-proBNP has not been investigated in the general population.
Methods: This study analyzed data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999-2004, encompassing 10,766 individuals. The relationship between the DII and NT-proBNP levels was evaluated through multivariable-adjusted regression models.

Pancreatic cancer is a highly aggressive malignant tumor, that is becoming increasingly common in recent years. Despite advances in intensive treatment modalities including surgery, radiotherapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy, the overall survival rate has not significantly improved in patients with pancreatic cancer. This may be attributed to the insidious onset, unknown pathophysiology, and poor prognosis of the disease.

Purpose: This study aims to develop and evaluate a novel cardiovascular MR sequence, MyoFold, designed for the simultaneous quantifications of myocardial tissue composition and wall motion.
Methods: MyoFold is designed as a 2D single breathing-holding sequence, integrating joint T/T mapping and cine imaging. The sequence uses a 2-fold accelerated balanced SSFP (bSSFP) for data readout and incorporates electrocardiogram synchronization to align with the cardiac cycle.

Introduction: Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury is a common medical issue contributing to the onset and progression of ischemic heart diseases (IHD). Growth arrest-specific gene 6 (GAS6), a vitamin K-dependent secretory protein, promotes cell proliferation and inhibits inflammation and apoptosis through binding with Tyro3, Axl, and Mertk (TAM) receptors.
Objectives: Our study aimed to examine the effect of GAS6 pathways activation as a potential new treatment in myocardial IR injury.

Background: The multiple modes of SARS-CoV-2 transmission including airborne, droplet, contact and faecal-oral transmissions that cause coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) contribute to a public threat to the lives of people worldwide. Heavy aerosol production by coughing and the big peak expiratory flow in patients with respiratory infections (especially SARS-CoV-2) during recovery from general anaesthesia are the highest risk factors for infection in healthcare workers. To perform sedation before extubation significantly reduced the incidence of coughing during recovery from general anaesthesia.

Ischemic stroke is a common cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The current treatment fails to achieve satisfactory results, because interventional therapy as first-line treatment management has a strict time window. In recent years, a large number of studies have confirmed that adenosine, as an inhibitory neurotransmitter, has a protective effect on cerebral ischemic injury.

Background: Coughing caused by tracheal extubation is common following general anaesthesia. Heavy aerosol production by coughing during recovery from general anaesthesia in patients with respiratory infections (especially COVID-19) may be one of the highest risk factors for infection in healthcare workers. The application of local anaesthetics to the endotracheal tube is an effective method to reduce coughing.
