Pulmonary embolism (PE) associated with duplicated inferior vena cava (IVC) is rare, and there are no reports of this condition treated with catheter-directed thrombolysis. We present the case of a 54-year-old man who developed massive PE caused by thrombi in a duplicated IVC that detached during transcatheter angiography. After implantation of a retrievable filter in the common IVC, the patient underwent catheter-directed thrombolysis.

Patients And Methods: Vδ2 T cells were isolated from the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients with the colorectal carcinoma (CRC, n = 30) and healthy controls (HC, n = 21). The proportion of CD27, CD28, IL-17A, IFN-γ and TNF-α of Vδ2 T cells was detected by the flow cytometry.

The aims of this study were to compare long-term outcomes of endovascular management for primary Budd-Chiari syndrome patients with membranous obstruction of IVC (MOVC) and segmental obstruction of IVC (SOVC) and explore the optimal endovascular strategy for these conditions.

Although the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) bypass graft is the best choice for surgical revascularization, its hemodynamics are still complex and can result in long-term graft failure. Here, we performed a hemodynamic analysis of the LIMA-coronary artery with end-to-side/side-to-side anastomoses based on 15 patient-specific CTA images at various postoperative periods. We hypothesize that hemodynamic patterns are determined by the interplay of LIMA geometry, anastomotic configuration, and severity of native coronary artery stenosis, which are strongly affected by the postoperative time.

We discuss the role of Salvianolic acid A(SAA), one of the main effective components in Salvia Miltiorrhiza (known as 'Danshen' in traditional Chinese medicine), in apoptotic factors, the production of oxidative products, and the expression of Akt and NF-κB in angiotensin II (Ang II)-mediated murine macrophages. In the present study, Ang II was added to mice abdominal macrophages with or without addition of SAA. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common leukemia in Western countries, and mainly originates from an accumulation of abnormal B cells caused by the dysregulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. The aberration of proliferation-related gene in CLL cells induces cell arrest at G0/G1 phase, or a small section shows rapid cell growth, which further complicates the pathogenesis of CLL. Immune thrombocytopenia is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease, characterized by accelerated platelet destruction and impaired platelet production. Bcl-xL and Bax play an opposite role in the regulation of apoptotic process with Bcl-xL for cell survival and Bax for cell apoptosis. Given the critical roles in the regulation of platelet apoptosis, whether Bcl-xL or Bax was involved in the pathogenesis of ITP remains unknown.
