Objective: Acute heart failure (AHF) is a frequent cardiovascular emergency presenting with high mortality as well as readmission rates. The aim was to investigate the predictive value of estimated plasma volume status (ePVs) and left atrial diameter (LAD) for the prognosis of patients with AHF.

Methods: Clinical profiles were collected from 259 cases of AHF patients at the Affiliated Hospital of Putian University between September 2019 and October 2021.

The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the value of IONM in esophagectomy for EC.

Pan-cancer analysis of FBXW family with potential implications in prognosis and immune infiltration.

Background: The F-box and WD repeat domain containing (FBXW) family of SCF E3 complexes has 10 members that are responsible for ubiquitination and degradation of substrate proteins involved in cell cycle regulation and tumorigenesis. Among them, FBXW1 (also called b-TrCP1/BTRC) and FBXW7 are the central proteins in this category. However, there is still a lack of elaborate exploration of the contribution of FBXW family members, especially FBXW1 and FBXW7, in various tumor types.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of PPARγ, PPARGC1A, and PPARGC1B variants with the risk of gastric cancer (GC).

Background: We investigated the effect of supplemental parenteral nutrition comprising parenteral nutrition (PN) and enteral nutrition (EN) on the postoperative nutritional status, immune function, and inflammatory response of patients with esophageal cancer.

Methods: Seventy-two patients with esophageal cancer were divided into the experimental group (PN + EN group; n = 36) and control group (total EN [TEN] group; n = 36). In the PN + EN group, EN and PN were administered on postoperative days 4 to 8.

Background: The infection rate of human papillomavirus (HPV) is high in the coastal regions of China. However, the infection rate among high-risk genotypes of women in Putian City is unknown. Methods: An electronic literature search of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science (data up to April 2022) was conducted and screened to compare hand sewn (HS), circular stapling (CS), side-to-side linear stapling (LS), and triangulating stapling (TS) for cervical esophagogastric anastomosis. Identification of potential key autophagy-related genes in asthma with bioinformatics approaches.

Objectives: Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by airway remodeling and inflammation. Recent studies have demonstrated that multiple autophagy-related genes are involved in the pathogenesis of asthma. However, the roles of many of these autophagy-related genes in asthma remain unclear, particularly with regard to the diagnosis of asthma.

Accuracy and digital screw path design of TiRobot-assisted pedicle screw placement for lumbar spondylolisthesis.

Purpose: To investigate lumbar spondylolisthesis screw placement assisted by TiRobot in terms of digital screw path design, accurate implementation, and accuracy evaluation method.

Methods: In this study, we enrolled 40 patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis between December 2020 and August 2021 who underwent spine surgery at the Affiliated Hospital of PuTian University. Pre-operative computed tomography position and screw path designation, intra-operative pedicle screw placement according to pre-operative planning, and post-operative evaluation of the accuracy of screw placement were performed.

Value of subcarinal lymph node dissection in esophageal cancer surgery: A case-control study.

We investigated the value of subcarinal lymph node dissection in esophageal cancer surgery. Altogether, 240 patients with esophageal cancer admitted to our department between June 2012 and January 2016 were prospectively assigned to an experimental group (subcarinal lymph node dissection group, n = 120 cases) and a control group (uncleaned group, n = 120 cases). The number of subcarinal lymph nodes and the rate of subcarinal lymph node metastasis were determined, and the factors influencing subcarinal lymph node metastasis were analyzed using logistic regression in the experimental group.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of preprocedural sacubitril/valsartan on N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-pro-BNP) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in patients with acute anterior STEMI undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Recent evidence suggests that mannan binding lectin associated serine proteases 2 (MASP2) is related to IgAN; therefore, we investigated the expression and significance of MASP2 in serum and urinary extracellular vesicles (UEVs) in patients with IgAN.

Methods: Thirty-eight patients with IgAN and 17 healthy controls were enrolled in this study.

Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) has been associated with an increased risk of death and adverse cardiovascular outcomes, while left atrial enlargement has been linked to atrial fibrillation (AF).

Background: The SCF (Skp1-cullin-F-box proteins) complex is the largest family of E3 ubiquitin ligases that mediate multiple specific substrate proteins degradation.
