Background: Despite the advancements in early lung cancer detection attributed to the widespread use of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT), this technology has also led to an increasing number of pulmonary nodules (PNs) of indeterminate significance being identified. Therefore, this study was aimed to develop a model that leverages plasma methylation biomarkers and clinical characteristics to distinguish between malignant and benign PNs.

Methods: In a training cohort of 210 patients with PNs, we evaluated plasma circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for the presence of three lung cancer-specific methylation markers: SHOX2, SCT, and HOXA7.

The State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Department of Neurology of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, School of Life Sciences and The Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210023, China; Changzhou High-Tech Research Institute of Nanjing University and Jiangsu TargetPharma Laboratories Inc, Changzhou 213164, China.

As natural nanoparticle, the bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMV) hold great potential in protein vaccines because of its self-adjuvant properties and good biocompatibility. However, the inherent immunotoxicity seriously hampers the application of OMV as protein antigens delivery carrier. Here, an attenuated OMV was constructed by elimination of the flagella protein from its surface and removal of the phosphate group of LPS at position one via gene-editing strategy.

The randomized phase 3 CHART trial (NCT03520478) revealed that rezvilutamide (REZ) plus androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in high-volume, metastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) significantly enhanced radiographic progression-free and overall survival than bicalutamide (BIC)-ADT. Accordingly, we examined patient-reported outcomes (PROs) results, which were exploratory endpoints in the CHART trial. The patients were randomly allocated to receive REZ-ADT or BIC-ADT in a 1:1 ratio.

Background: The incidence of enteral feeding intolerance (ENFI) in the early postoperative period is high in patients after gastric cancer resection due to the characteristics of surgical traumatic stress and changes in the physiological structure of the digestive tract, and the current evaluation of ENFI after gastric cancer resection mostly depends on the symptoms and complaints of patients after gastric cancer resection, which is lagging and subjective. Early accurate and objective prediction of the risk of early ENFI after gastric cancer resection is critical to guide clinical enteral nutrition practice.

Materials And Methods: This study included 470 patients who underwent radical gastric cancer surgery at the Division of Gastric Surgery of a tertiary hospital in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, between November 2021 and October 2022.

Collaborative Innovation Center of Advanced Microstructures, National Laboratory of Solid State Microstructure, Key Laboratory of Intelligent Optical Sensing and Manipulation, Ministry of Education, Department of Physics, Nanjing University, Nanjing, Jiangsu 210093, China.

Dynamic hydrogels are emerging as advanced materials for engineering tissue-like environments that mimic cellular microenvironments. We introduce a diselenide-cross-linked hydrogel system with light-responsive properties, designed for precise control of tumor organoid growth and light-initiated radical inactivation, particularly for dendritic cell (DC) vaccines. Diselenide exchange enables stress relaxation and hydrogel remodeling, while recombination and quenching of seleno radicals (Se) reduce cross-linking density, leading to controlled degradation.
