Background: Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (I/R) can affect patient outcomes and can even be life-threatening. This study aimed to explore the role of Shionone in cerebral I/R and reveal its mechanism of action through the cerebral I/R in vitro model.
Methods: SH-SY5Y cells were subjected to oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) to induce cerebral I/R in vitro model.
Background: Clinical studies have confirmed that Qingfei Dayuan (QFDY) granules are effective in the treatment of influenza and upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) caused by pulmonary heat-toxin syndrome (PHTS). Granules of Chinese medicine formulations have become a widely used dosage form in clinical practice. With the continuous optimization of extraction technology, the advantages of Chinese medicine granules have been gradually demonstrated, but the price of Chinese medicine granules is generally higher than that of traditional dosage forms of Chinese medicine, and we support the rational use of the appropriate dosage of QFDY for patients with these conditions.

Objective: The role of CircUBXN7 has been described in various disorders, including hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced cardiomyocyte injury. However, the detailed mechanisms underlying myocardial infarction (MI) remain unclear.
Methods: CircUBXN7, microtubule affinity regulating kinase 3 (MARK3), and miR-582-3p expression was analyzed in patients with MI, in an ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) rat model, and in hypoxia-induced H9c2 cells using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction analysis.

Patients diagnosed with influenza and upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) have similar clinical manifestations and biochemical indices and a low detection rate of viral pathogens, mixed infection with diverse respiratory viruses, and targeted antiviral treatment difficulty in the early stage. According to the treatment strategy of "homotherapy for heteropathy" in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), different diseases with the same clinical symptoms can be treated with the same medicines. Qingfei Dayuan granules (QFDY), a type of Chinese herbal preparation included in the issued by the Health Commission of Hubei Province in 2021, are recommended for patients suffering from COVID-19 with symptoms of fever, cough, and fatigue, among others.

Introduction: The role of different isoforms of Fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF2) in tubular epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in diabetic nephropathy remains unknown. We aimed to evaluate the role of FGF2 isoforms in the pathogenesis of EMT.
Materials And Methods: Western blot and immunofluorescence were used to assess the expression of FGF2 isoforms in db/db mice and high glucose-stimulated HK2 cells.

Objective: Microglial BV-2 cells are activated in the brain following insomnia. Naringin (NAR) is a polymethoxylated flavonoid that is also commonly found in citrus fruits and is known for its antioxidant potential. However, the effect of NAR on microglial cells has rarely been studied in the brain of an organism after insomnia.

This aim of this study was to observe the effect of Yang Yan Qing E Wan (YYQEW) on senescent phenotypes and the expression of β-catenin and p16 in the hydrogen peroxide (HO)-induced premature senescence of normal human skin fibroblasts (NHSFs). Primary normal human skin fibroblasts were randomly divided into a normal group, a blank group, a model group, and a YYQEW group. The cells of the model group and the YYQEW group were exposed to 150 μmol/L HO for 2 h.

Background: Although a high incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) is observed among chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients in developed countries, limited information is available about CVD prevalence and risk factors in the Chinese CKD population. The Chinese Cohort of Chronic Kidney Disease (C-STRIDE) was established to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of CVD among Chinese CKD patients.
Methods: Participants with stage 1-4 CKD (18-74 years of age) were recruited at 39 clinical centers located in 28 cities from 22 provinces of China.

Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation of "Fenglong" (ST 40) on blood lipid contents and inflammatory factor levels in hyperlipemia rats so as to elucidate its mechanism underlying improvement of hyperlipemia.
Methods: Fifty male SD rats were randomized into 5 groups: normal, model, diet -control, EA intervention (EA), diet-control + EA groups, with 10 rats in each group. Hyperlipemia model was established by feeding the animals with high-fat diet for 30 days.
