Objective: To explore the mechanism by which the Wnt/β-catenin pathway induces osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow-derived stem cells (BMSCs) in anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (AED) with an Ectodysplasin A (EDA)/EDA receptor (EDAR)/EDARADD mutation.

Methods: An AED patient served as the AED group, whereas the other patients without AED were included in the normal group. Peripheral venous blood collected from the AED patient was subjected to whole-genome resequencing.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) results from the host immune disorder, which elicits the selective destruction of insulin-producing s in the pancreatic islets. Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) has been reported to treat T1D in numerous studies, and has been proved to be effective in treating T1D based on immune ablation and regeneration. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the curative effect of syngeneic bone marrow transplantation (syn-BMT) and to analyze peripheral blood lymphocyte phenotypes of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice after syn-BMT, and further to reveal possible mechanisms of syn-BMT involved in normalization of blood glucose.

Hydroxyapatite (HA) has been studied recently as a drug carrier in prevent implant infections due to its biocompatibility and osteoconductive properties, but most of these studies failed to control infection. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the potential of this impurity-free novel HA nanotube as a carrier for drug delivery in a controlled manner. Gentamicin was selected as an antibiotic to study the drug-carrier properties of this novel HA nanotube.
