J Cancer Res Ther

February 2020

Department of Oncology Minimally Invasive, The 307th Hospital of PLA, Beijing, China.

Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and survival factors of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer.

Subjects And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted between September 2010 and March 2016. Advanced pancreatic cancer patients with HIFU treatment were enrolled in the analysis to evaluate the efficacy of local ablation, pain relief, and relative complications of HIFU therapy.

Osteosarcoma is one of the most malignant cancer adolescents and young adults and metastatic osteosarcoma is a huge life threat with a 5-year survival lower than 20%. However, the mechanisms through which localized osteosarcoma turned metastatic are not fully understood. Here, we studied the role of miR-204-5p in osteosarcoma and found that miR-204-5p is downregulated in both osteosarcoma patients and osteosarcoma cell lines.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of prussian blue (PB) or its combination with hemoperfusion (HP) in the treatment of acute thallium poisoning.

Methods: Forty-seven patients with acute thallium poisoning with complete data hospitalized in the 307th Hospital of PLA from September 2002 to December 2017 were enrolled, and they were divided into mild poisoning group (blood thallium < 150 μg/L, urinary thallium < 1 000 μg/L) and moderate-severe poisoning group (blood thallium ≥ 150 μg/L, urinary thallium ≥ 1 000 μg/L) according to the toxic degrees. All patients were given symptomatic supportive treatments such as potassium supplementation, catharsis, vital organ protections, neurotrophic drugs, and circulation support.

Lung cancer ranks first in incidence and mortality in China. Surgery is the primary method to cure cancer, but only 20-30% of patients are eligible for curative resection. In recent years, in addition to surgery, other local therapies have been developed for patients with numerous localized primary and metastatic pulmonary tumors, including stereotactic body radiation therapy and thermal ablative therapies through percutaneously inserted applicators.

Sarcomas are rare but malignant tumors with high risks of local recurrence and distant metastasis. Anti-angiogenic therapy is a potential strategy against un-controlled and not-organized tumor angiogenesis. We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of apatinib, an oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2, in patients with advanced sarcoma.

Background: The granisetron transdermal delivery system (GTDS) has been demonstrated effectiveness in the control of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in previous studies. This is the first phase III study to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of GTDS in patients receiving moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (MEC) or highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC) in China.

Methods: A total of 313 patients were randomized into the GTDS group (one transdermal granisetron patch, 7 days) or the oral granisetron group (granisetron oral 2 mg/day, ≥2 days).
