The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two surgical methods—microfracture and autogenous osteochondral mosaic transplantation—for treating cartilage injuries in the knee.
A total of 71 patients (33 in the microfracture group and 38 in the mosaicplasty group) were analyzed over a two-year follow-up period using clinical scores to assess their recovery.
Results showed that while both procedures improved knee scores, the mosaicplasty group had better outcomes than the microfracture group, with minimal complications reported.
