It is thought that these synthesized molecules can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal and periapical diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the severity of apical periodontitis (AP) and chronic periodontitis (CP) and serum (s) TNF-α, IL-10, PGE2 and NO levels, as well as PGE2 and NO levels in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples.

Methods: Between January 2008 and December 2022, a total of 90 patients (35 males, 55 females; mean age: 58±20 years; range, 20 to 92 years) who had cough-induced rib fractures were retrospectively analyzed. A 7-year-old girl with a history of splenectomy for hereditary spherocytosis (HS) was diagnosed with renal hematoma after a blunt abdominal trauma while receiving aspirin. Background: The assessment of health-related quality of life among people living with HIV (PLWH) has gained increasing importance as it assesses their overall well-being, guides treatment decisions, and addresses psychosocial challenges, improving their quality of life. This study focuses on adapting and validating the Turkish version of the WHOQOL-HIV Bref, a tool developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to measure health-related quality of life in PLWH. This adaptation is based on the generic WHOQOL-Bref Turkish and WHOQOL-HIV Bref inventory.

The effect of systemic sclerosis and its subtypes on ocular anterior and posterior segment parameters.

Purpose: To evaluate anterior and posterior segment parameters in the eyes of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and examine the effect of disease and disease subtypes on these parameters.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 54 eyes of 27 SSc patients and 54 eyes of 27 age- and sex-matched healthy controls. In addition to a complete ophthalmologic examination, all patients were examined using a Scheimpflug camera, specular microscopy, and spectral domain optical coherence tomography.

Introduction: Familial glucocorticoid deficiency (FGD) is a rare autosomal recessive disease resulting from isolated glucocorticoid deficiency or unresponsiveness to adrenocorticotropic hormone. Patients with FGD usually present in infancy or early childhood with hyperpigmentation, recurrent infections, and hypoglycemia. The salt-wasting crisis is rare.

Objective: Our goal in this study is to analyze the correlation between papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) with elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels and deficiency of vitamin D.

Methods: Patients who underwent thyroidectomy, also with available vitamin D test results preoperatively, were included in the study. The patients were separated into two different categories as having papillary thyroid carcinoma (Group 1), benign diseases (Group 2).
