Background: Severe pneumonia (SP) stands as one of the most prevalent critical illnesses encountered in clinical practice, characterised by its rapid onset and progression, numerous complications and elevated mortality rates. While modern medical interventions primarily focus on symptomatic management such as anti-infective therapy and mechanical ventilation, challenges including high drug resistance and suboptimal therapeutic outcomes for certain patients persist. Dry cupping as an ancient practice with over a millennium of clinical use in China is renowned for its convenience and perceived clinical efficacy in various illnesses.

Background: The incidence of hemiparetic limb dysfunction reaches 85% in stroke patients, emerging as a critical factor influencing their daily lives. However, the effectiveness of current rehabilitation treatments is considerably limited, particularly in patients with upper extremity impairment. This study aims to conduct a prospective clinical trial to validate the safety and effectiveness of gamma oscillations induced by 40-Hz visual-auditory stimulation in treating post-stroke upper limb dysfunction and to explore the relevant mechanisms.

The density and composition of lymphocytes infiltrating colon tumors serve as predictive factors for the clinical outcome of colon cancer. Our previous studies highlighted the potent anti-cancer properties of the principal compounds found in (YTE-17), attributing these effects to the regulation of multiple signaling pathways. However, knowledge regarding the mechanism and effect of YTE-17 in the prevention of colorectal cancer is limited.

Following the publication of the above article, a concerned reader drew to the Editor's attention that certain of the cell migration and invasion assay data featured in Figs. 2B, 5C, 6B and C were strikingly similar to data appearing in different form in other articles written by different authors at different research institutes that had either already been submitted elsewhere prior to the submission of this paper to Oncology Reports, or were under consideration for publication at around the same time (one of which has been retracted). In view of the fact that certain of these data had already apparently been submitted for publication prior to the submission of this article to , the Editor has decided that this paper should be retracted from the Journal.

Gut microbial β-glucuronidases (gmβ-GUS) played crucial roles in regulating a variety of endogenous substances and xenobiotics on the circulating level, thus had been recognized as key modulators of drug toxicity and human diseases. Inhibition or inactivation of gmβ-GUS enzymes has become a promising therapeutic strategy to alleviate drug-induced intestinal toxicity. Herein, the Rhodiola crenulata extract (RCE) was found with potent and broad-spectrum inhibition on multiple gmβ-GUS enzymes.

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic disease characterized by the abnormal proliferation of fibroblast and excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM), accompanied by inflammation and ultimately respiratory failure. Yinhuang granule (YHG), with clinical properties of clearing heat, detoxifying and anti-inflammation, is commonly used to heal upper respiratory diseases in China for decades.
Purpose: To explore the improvement of YHG on bleomycin (BLM)-induced IPF in mice and its possible engaged mechanism.
