[Clinical profile of corneal sensitivity in diabetic patients: A case-control study].

Purpose: To evaluate the corneal sensitivity of black diabetic patients and identify factors associated with changes in corneal sensitivity.

Methodology: We conducted a cross-sectional comparative case-control study at the National Obesity Center of the Yaounde Central Hospital and the Djoungolo District Hospital from March 1 to July 31, 2022. Corneal sensitivity was measured using the Cochet-Bonnet esthesiometer in all diabetic patients over 18 years of age, matched for age and sex to a clinically healthy control population.

The therapeutic approach for the treatment of children with radiologically "normal" hip presenting with epiphysiolysis of the contralateral upper femur is controversial. We here report the case of a 12-year-old boy with osteonecrosis of radiologically "normal" and asymptomatic left femoral head prophylactically fixed due to acute femoral epiphysiolysis of the contralateral hip. Eight months after first surgery, the patient developed symptoms of avascular osteonecrosis of the femoral head.

Cycloviruses, small ssDNA viruses belonging to the Circoviridae family, have been suggested as possible causes of enteric, respiratory and neurological disorders in human patients. One of these species, cyclovirus-Vietnam (CyCV-VN), initially isolated from cerebrospinal fluid samples of patients with unexplained neurological disorders, has since been reported in serum samples from chronically patients infected with HBV, HCV or HIV, in Italy. On the other hand, CyCV-VN was not detected in serum samples from healthy individuals.
